I had a pleasant experience at Ristorante Bar Carbonara. The overall atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and it definitely has that classic charm. The service was quick and efficient, which I appreciated, especially since we were quite hungry when we arrived. That said, the staff could’ve been a bit warmer—there weren’t many smiles going around, but they were attentive and did their job well, so no complaints on the professionalism.

One detail that stood out and made a good impression was the owner walking around to check in on the tables. It’s a small gesture, but it really adds a human touch and shows that they care about their guests’ experience.

Now let’s talk about the food: it was genuinely delicious. The pasta felt unique—clearly homemade or at least crafted with care. You can tell they take pride in their recipes. The flavors were rich, and everything was well-balanced. Just don’t expect huge portions; the dishes are more about enjoying quality than quantity. It’s the kind of place you go to savor a good meal, not necessarily to leave feeling full to the brim.

Siamo venuti per cena sotto consiglio del proprietario dell’albergo, fiduciosi abbiamo ordinato un antipasto,2 primi e 1 secondo. Abbiamo ordinato una bottiglia di acqua naturale, era talmente poca che non é bastata a riempire 2 bicchieri ma solo uno e mezzo, così abbiamo dovuto ordinarne un altra. Il nostro antipasto un’ insalata di mare è arrivata dopo un ora. Non è successo solo a noi ma a tutti i clienti nella sala, infatti uno si é alzato ed è andato via con la sua famiglia, dopo aver consumato l’antipasto, arrivato anche per lui dopo 1 ora. Dopo l’antipasto, il primo e il secondo sono arrivati più veloci con i giusti tempi. Io personalmente non sono un grande intenditore di cibo e mi reputo uno che si accontenta, però devo dire che il pesce non mi sembrava fresco anzi aveva a tratti un sapore un po’ plasticoso, le porzioni non erano abbondanti e gli spaghetti sono stati distesi in lunghezza sul piatto per far sembrare il piatto più abbondante , quando con due forchettate li finivi e non avevano molto sapore. Il secondo un fritto misto non è stato fritto bene, più che altro i gamberi, ripeto non sono un gran intenditore ma ho mangiato fritti misti da altre parti in questi giorni ed erano molto buoni e meglio fritti e il pesce mi sembrava di qualità migliore. Ora passo al prezzo, ovviamente i prezzi sono sulla carta in bella vista e uno é libero di scegliere se fermarsi o meno, i prezzi in linea di massima coincidono con quelli di alcuni ristoranti lì vicino a parte qualche piatto che é un pochettino più caro. Tuttavia pagare 93 euro in due per quello che abbiamo mangiato é eccessivo, a mio avviso per qualità, tempi di attesa e piatti proposti é caro. Capisco le possibili spese a cui deve far fronte il gestore, ma per la qualità del cibo offerto il prezzo é eccessivo, in questi giorni abbiamo mangiato in un posto sulla spiaggia a 30 metri dal mare e abbiamo pagato 87 euro ordinando lo stesso numero di piatti, con la differenza che abbiamo mangiato abbondantemente, tutte le porzioni erano il doppio e forse anche qualcosa in più rispetto a queste, e là qualità del cibo era ottima, così come la cottura perfetta e una bottiglia di acqua ci é bastata per tutta la cena e ci abbiamo riempito 5-6 bicchieri. Spero che la mia esperienza e testimonianza (non la chiamo recensione in quanto non ho le competenze per farlo) non venga presa come un offesa o un attacco(perché ho visto che praticamente ad ogni scritto che é stato fatto, il gestore ha commentato negando praticamente sempre qualsiasi problema che hanno avuto i clienti); ma che venga preso come uno stimolo a migliorare o proporre prezzi più in linea a quello che si offre, capisco che é un luogo in cui i turisti vanno e vengono, però tra i turisti c’è anche chi ha fatto i sacrifici per fare una vacanza e magari vuole uscire una sera con la famiglia magari sapendo che pagherà un po’ caro, però aspettandosi perlomeno di mangiare del buon pesce e trovarsi di fronte a servizi e qualità non in linea con il prezzo é un po’ un rammarico . Normalmente non faccio recensioni, anzi a dire il vero è la prima, ero in vacanza e volevo rilassarmi, solamente che pensandoci nei giorni seguenti e provando altri posti ho pensato che forse era giusto farla. This place is truly great, and I mean by international standards. My starter was a traditional Sardinian ravioli with potato and myrtle, doesn’t sound like much but it was delicate, served with a light tomato sauce making a delicious combination of flavours. My grilled sea bass main was served whole then filleted at the table for me by a charming waitress. The fish was perfectly cooked and tasted just-caught fresh (I had chosen it from a selection of fresh fish that had been bought to the table). I finished with myrtle sorbet which was again delicate and refreshing. We drank a very good Alghero Vermentino that we had paid €30 a bottle for the previous night, here exactly the same wine and vintage was €18. The service was excellent throughout despite the restaurant being full. Definitely book, this place is wonderful, I even loved the quirky...
