My boyfriend and I had dinner here once during our 3-night stay in Dongo, and it was a good experience over all.
The location is nice, with a beautiful view of the lake, and the food is fairly priced. We both had the Spaghetti Bolognese, which tasted very fresh and left us with full bellies. I also saw the pizzas and other pasta dishes other people got, and everything looked absolutely delicious!
The only 2 reasons I can’t give more stars is because they didn’t clean the plate after portioning, and the service just wasn’t quite up to our standards. The waiters were fast, but didn’t come across particularly motivated; they didn’t serve the coke in a glass, and instead just put the can on the table (absolute no-no!); and we didn’t even get parmesan on the table with our pasta, which I would expect at an Italian restaurant.

Practical info: Service is 2€ per person Staff are good at English Pizzas are 5-10€

Certainly worth a visit, but restaurants in the surrounding villages are probably...
Read moreOur stay at Albergo Dongo was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with genuine hospitality.
The rooms are cozy and spotless, with beautiful views of Lake Como, but what truly sets this place apart is the heart of its people. Lara and her team went above and beyond for us — not only making sure we were comfortable, but also extending incredible kindness in a moment of crisis. Their care turned what could have been a disaster into a story of gratitude and human connection we’ll never forget.
The restaurant is another highlight, delicious pizza, authentic Italian food prepared with love and served with warmth.
If you are visiting Lake Como, I cannot recommend Albergo Dongo highly enough. It’s not just a hotel, it’s an experience of true Italian hospitality. Grazie mille,...
