“La Destina” | Piccola Cucina da Elena — Restaurant in Fasano

La Destina is one of those rare places where you can taste both the love and the technique in every bite. The story behind how it came to be is just as meaningful as the meal itself — if you get the chance, ask them about it.

We started with the sea bream tartare — light, fresh, and exactly what I was hoping for. From there, everything was beautifully done: thoughtful, flavorful, and rooted in classic Pugliese cooking. Matteo and Elena bring such warmth to the experience — it really does feel like being welcomed into someone’s home.

We had the Five Roses rosé with dinner — a beautiful wine with its own local story that added even more depth to the night.

And don’t leave without trying the homemade digestifs — especially the bay leaf infused one. It’s a quiet little masterpiece all on its own.

Guys, you simply need to come and visit this restaurant, because this is really a hidden gem of Apuglia!

Firstly, don’t forget to make a reservation, because depending on the season/time you might be in luck to get a free table, but believe me, you don’t want to leave your culinary experience here to chance.

At Elena’s you will get personal attention, a very friendly service and (do I need to say it?) an excellent meal. :) Don’t forget to ask about the dishes not included in the menu (they may vary) and if you are really in doubt, ask for the “tasting menu”, which includes a lot of Apulian dishes served in small portions. For drink, house wine is always a smart choice and don’t forget to try the dessert! The amazing time...

This place is an absolute hidden pearl in Puglia. We were served by the owner and her son, and we had a great experience. All the different dishes were delicious and unique in its own way. I can highly recommend to get the appetizer tasting to try as many different things as possible.

You can feel in everything that the family puts a lot of love in the dishes, the atmosphere and the experience of their guests.
