This restaurant has a very local feel to it, with a mix of a relaxed terrace and a simple but cozy indoor space that fits right into the neighborhood. It doesn’t try too hard — and that’s exactly what makes it charming. You get the sense that this is a place people from the area actually go to, and that gives it a really nice, laid-back vibe.
The food is truly delicious. Every dish we had was full of flavor and clearly made with care. It’s not overcomplicated — just really tasty, well-seasoned food that hits the spot. The wine was also excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. Portions are on the smaller side, but that’s quite typical for the region, and the quality makes up for it.
One thing that really stood out was the staff. They were working full speed all night — you could tell it was a busy evening — but they never missed a beat. Friendly, fast, and genuinely attentive, even under pressure. That level of service really adds to the experience. On top of that, all of the staff spoke English, something you don’t always find in this area. It made communication super easy
A fun little touch was the occasional song played through an old-fashioned hand-cranked speaker — a quirky detail that brought a smile to everyone’s face and gave the evening a playful, light-hearted twist.
Prices are a bit on the higher side, but considering the quality of the food and service, it’s definitely worth it. It’s the kind of place you leave feeling satisfied and well...
Read moreWow - definitely the highlight of our holiday. This restaurant gets a 5 star rating from us for atmosphere, friendliness and quality.
We spent our holiday in Golfo Aranci, Sardinia from the 9th to 18th September and our biggest regret was not finding this small friendly family owned restaurant earlier in the week.
The food was very nice and cooked to order, with good size portions. There was a good variety of dishes - pizza, pasta, fish & meat - something for everyone. On our 2nd, 3rd & 4th visits to the restaurant, as portions sizes were large, we shared starters, mains, & desserts so we could have a bit of everything. The staff didn’t mind at all, and were extremely nice even though they didn’t speak a lot of English and we didn’t speak Italian. Lemoncellos were also served on the house at the end of meal too. We also enjoyed the Prosecco, Wine and Beer. The cost was very very reasonable.
Local people were regular visitors to the restaurant (1 couple went the same 4 nights as ourselves - 14th-17th September).
The highlight was the entertainment. The owner sang, but also there was a young tenor who was amazing. He sang Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Rock & Roll, and then Opera - O sol mio and Nessun Dorma which sent shivers down our spines. It was absolutely wonderful, and the power, charisma and richness in his voice was unbelievable. What a fantastic experience and lovely atmosphere while...
Read moreWe had a fantastic meal at Giampippo during our visit to Sardinia and can't recommend it highly enough. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The pasta dishes were incredible – clearly made with care and expertise. The pizzas, cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven, were simply amazing with that perfect crispy crust and authentic flavor you can only get from a proper horno a leña. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the quality of the ingredients really shone through. The desserts were equally impressive and provided the perfect ending to our meal. Beyond the outstanding food, the atmosphere was wonderful. They played beautiful Italian music throughout our dinner, which added to the authentic and enjoyable dining experience. The service was excellent – attentive, friendly, and professional. If you're looking for genuine Italian cuisine in Sardinia with great ambiance and top-notch service, Giampippo is a must-visit. We left completely satisfied and would...
