A Hidden Gem Near the Airport – Dining at Otherside On our last night in Florence, staying just outside the city centre near the airport, we were pointed in the direction of Otherside, that turned out to be the perfect farewell to our trip.

Tucked away from the tourist crowds, we were welcomed into a beautiful garden area filled with soft lighting, relaxed vibes, and the kind of charm that makes you want to linger just a little longer. We ordered pizza and wine, and both hit the spot perfectly. The pizzas were fantastic, crispy, flavourful, and made with care. Even better, most were priced under €10, proving that great food doesn’t have to come at a high price.

It had everything we needed for a final evening: relaxed atmosphere, good wine, amazing pizza, and a feeling that we’d found something a little special. Apologies for the photos I only remembered half way through...

This expansive restaurant is off the city center and offers a full menu including pizzas. The dough is carefully done and the topping is generous, and the experience is memorable. The tiramisu was also really good. The bill was fair given the quality of the food: for 6 pizzas, two “baby pizzas”, one dessert, 2 soft drinks, 4 beers and water we paid 110€ (125 $ with the current exchange). The location has a lot of potential but the head waiter was obnoxiously “friendly” and took some freedom when it came to a few things. However, a young waitress was the most polite and professional I have met in years. Plus, the music was a bit too loud for my taste. Definitely recommended...

We were visiting Florence from the USA and this was an easy walk from our accommodations. We came early before it got busy. The wait staff gave us a lot of attention as well as a couple great complementary appetizers. We shared a couple pizzas and some nice wine among among the four of us. We thought the price was reasonable and enjoyed talking with the manager and chef.
