Eating in Italy is a pleasure, wherever you! In Florence, just out of town and in a non touristic place Il Cigno is a wonderful and fantastic trattoria that only the locals can guide you to. Our friends told us: "that was the preferred restaurant of our father, we used to go there as kids every weekend". Best advice ever: there went. Not a fancy place: just a familiar and kids friendly place, with options to eat inside or outside, for the cold and warmer times. Parking? not a problem! Something you will welcome in Florence. Crowded? Not at all! Even if locals could pack it, it is not the typical Florence place full of tourists exhausted, tired and sweating after walking and walking. Rather hungry so Primo a lovely risotto , done with porro and fungi (leaks and mushroom) very good , skip the parmesan if offered , then secondo a succulent medium/rare (spot on cooked) tagliatelle with mushrooms some roast potatoes in the side (only let down little to much salt) , really the meat melted in the mouth .
