Chalet Nonna Carmela — Restaurant in Forio

We went here yesterday and it was great. We rented one of the umbrellas with 2 chairs combos from them for 20 euros. We stayed here for about 8h arriving at around 9am (we were basically the first ones to arrive at this section of umbrellas). At its peak around 11am there were many people at the beach but it was not crowded. Most of the umbrellas were taken but there were still some left. The water was warm and crystal clear as you can see from the photo, the beach was clean, the ocean was very calm, lots of families around and older people. No instagrammers or loud music or partying which we found excellent. Brilliant to relax and enjoy the sun and the sea. Excellent place to sit down for a drink and a bite after wandering in the hot Ischia afternoon sun. The best dish we ordered was the mussels - buttery and tender with a unique kelp flavor. Nel nostro caso si sono rivelati estremamente scorretti: Ho ordinato il pescato del giorno che aveva ovviamente il prezzo al’etto. Non mi è stato però comunicato da chi prendeva l’ordine che i pesci disponibili oggi erano estremamente grandi, quindi che era consigliato dividerlo almeno tra due persone. Per questo motivo il mio compagno ha ordinato un altro piatto (perché pensavamo che la spigola ordinata fosse per una persona visto che non c’è stato fatto nessun commento a riguardo e non era scritto da nessuna parte.) Quindi arriva il pesce, ci viene pulito davanti, mi viene fatto il piatto (per una persona) e poi viene portato via il pesce restante (io, ingenua, credo che siccome l’errore l’hanno fatto loro in fase di ordinazione, lo portino via per farmi poi un prezzo speciale sulla base di quello che mi hanno servito). Invece mi trovo sul conto 42 euro di Spigola in quanto mi hanno servito un pesce da 650g. È stato un comportamento a mio parere estremamente scorretto, gliel’ho poi fatto notare anche di persona, si sono scusati e spero per loro non ricapiti più, perché oltre ad aver fatto spendere una follia ad un cliente hanno anche sprecato una quantità esagerata di cibo.
