I had lunch here with my wife and daughter and we were extremely impressed. We ordered two dishes of scialatelli alla siciliana and one dish of ziti al sugo con braciola; we were about to order more but the waiter kindly told us to wait, that these were almost one-dish meals (he was right). Both dishes were daily offers. The Scialatelli, a fresh pasta about one-third shorter than spaghetti, was with olives, capers, tomatoes and diced swordfish. The swordfish was perfectly cooked and it was a lot, basically a whole portion. A wonderful dish with bold flavours. The Ziti, a bigger short pasta, was with a braciola, a pork roll with filling that's cooked in tomato sauce, and obviously the sauce. Having lived in Naples for a few years I had quite a few of these and I can say this was likely the best. The braciola was melt-in-mouth tender (a typical was this dish can fail is that the braciola gets dry) and the sauce was super tasty and had just the right amount of cheese in it. Both dishes were huge, with tons of meat, and after cleaning the plates with some bread we were full. We still ordered some desserts out of gluttony, a cheesecake, an ice cream and a sorbet. They were all great. With two bottles of water, a beer, a digestive and service we spent 79 euros. I can't recommend this...
Read moreIt's simple, we stayed 4 nights in Ischia, and for 4 evenings we had dinner at Tinaia. We found it by chance on our first night and had to wait 15min to be seated. There's usually a waiting line but it goes quite quickly. The staff is super helpful, and there are a lot of them so the service is quite fluid. And the food was of the highest quality despite the low price point compared to other eateries on the island. Had pizza, spaghetti vongole, breaded veal, lemon cream spaghetti and gnocchi with meatballs among other things and all were absolutely delicious! And let's not forget their dessert section where you can choose from a variety of homemade desserts as well as ice cream and homemade crepes. The man makes the ice cream cones himself in a waffle machine, it's insane and really good! Apparently locals from all over the island come just...
Read moreSlightly odd looking place from the outside in that it looks a bit like you're entering a yard, but once inside it's a really big courtyard covered by large canopies and umbrellas. There are several buildings directly off the courtyard so you can eat inside if you prefer. Atmosphere outside was lively and you can smoke at the tables if you wish. Menu was fairly similar to others but they had a proper pizza oven as well, plus various specials on boards around the walls. We wanted pasta and found that this was one of the few places in Forio that we could get a Bolognese sauce. Wifey had the carbonara which she enjoyed. Prices were very reasonable with our bill for bruschetta, pasta, coffee and a round of drinks coming to €36. Staff were very attentive and service was quick. Steady stream of people coming and going, with many...
