I figli di Quintino — Restaurant in Formia

Found this place completely by accident as our ferry to Ponza was cancelled due to weather and we had to stay the night in Formia.

We immediately felt welcome here and had one of the best dining experiences of my life. We started with amazing pastas. I ordered the Amatriciana and tried the gnocchi that my son in law ordered. Truly could not pick a favorite, they were both so good, maybe the best gnocchi I ever had! Then we were served steak perfectly cooked and amazing, but unfortunately we were so full we had to take most of it to go. We still had room for dessert though, which was very good, too! Then I couldn't believe I fed our family of 6 so much food for less than 200€!

We asked the hostess if she knew of a taxi to take us back to the place we arranged to stay and when they couldn't locate a taxi one of the workers offered to drive us there himself! Truly have never felt more like family at a restaurant than here!

What a happy accident that our ferry got cancelled and now I can't wait to return to Formia again someday, and will definitely return to I figli...

Ci siamo stati 3 volte, la prima super, la seconda siamo andati con le stesse aspettative, ma purtroppo no, e così abbiamo pensato che forse non era la serata giusta.. E ci siamo ripromessi una terza cena. La terza peggio della seconda, attenzione, il cibo è fin troppo buono, per questo siamo tornati, il problema sono le attese.. Non ci si può sedere alle 21 e mangiare l'antipasto alle 22e50, dopo che chi si è seduto dopo di te ha mangiato prima di te e se n'è pure andato prima di te.. E tu intanto aspetti in silenzio per rispetto a chi lavora, un cenno di conforto o di scuse..niente.. Mi dispiace molto fare questa recensione, visto che facciamo lo stesso lavoro. Ma passi la seconda, che ci può stare, la terza no. I clienti devono essere tutti uguali e trattati tutti alla stessa misura. P. S volevamo almeno ordinare un dolce e un amaro, beh... Al nostro tavolo non è venuto più nessuno (successivi 20 minuti di oblio) nonostante fosse stato richiesto, poco professionale. E vabbè, pagato e ringraziato e via a prendere un gelato in via ...

Una giornata per me un po’ buia. Ammetto di essere arrivata in questo ristorante per un “ errore “ ma subito entrata mi sono sentita a casa. Accoglienza cortese e gentile. Ci hanno fatto subito accomodare e dato consigli su cosa mangiare. Tutto PERFETTO! Intrattenuti da un delizioso karaoke abbiamo visto la sala riempirsi di commensali allegri. Vino della casa Rosso consigliatissimo. Dai camerieri al titolare tutti con un sorriso e la premura di chiedere come andasse. Direi che meglio di così non si può! Perché non ho parlato del cibo e carne in particolare ? Perché è la cosa “ meno importante “ visto che dire che è sublime è dire poco. Parla da sé. Da tornarci...
