Worst dinner I have had in Francavilla al Mare in years! ...we thought we were on a candid camera show... Beautiful place for a romantic evening out but the dinner/food will spoil it for you. It might be ok if you plan to have just 1 course (i.e. pasta) but then, again, not worth the money... OUR ORDER: 2 starters, 4 pasta dishes and 2 second course dishes! ...They started by bringing us 1 pasta dish (forgetting the other three)...so one of us ate while the other three whatched... ...I still do not know what happened to the starters... Before that one dish of pasta was finished they then brought us the 2 second course dishes, of which one was wrong and also badly cooked... Once we managed to call them back to our table they then replaced the wrong dish for the right one but this was also again badly cooked and we had to send it back...again... Once we eventually finished the 2nd course (sending back the one badly cooked) they finally brought us the other 3 pasta dishes...so three of us could eat while one sat whatching ... ...we never got the starters... by the time we had the pasta we told them not to bother with those...
You would be WAY BETTER OFF having dinner on a Trabocco, a much nicer location, better food and overall cheaper!! Giving it 2 stars rather than one cause their staff serving at the tables was...

Waiters had no clue about the menu, wine service- better you forget! While waiting for the second course, we were asked if we still have any wishes. Kitchen quality awful, deep frozen sea food, catch of the day probably just cut off from neighbors' portion. After the second course was served after long waiting, waiters never appeared again in our corner to react on our eventual orders. Just running back and forth to irritate the rest of the guests. Very high pricing for no quality. We feel have...
Read moreBeautiful venue! We sat down at a shaded table overlooking the beach and waited for our order to be taken… Wrong. Despite 90% being empty, we weren’t allowed to stay there as everything had been reserved for the season by ‘absentees’. Why don’t the Italian ‘Capas’ (bosses) revise their business model? Being unable to sit down on an empty chair on the beach just because it’s been reserved for the season by others is ridiculous. The ‘Capas’ should revise their business model… If the pitches are empty when tourists arrive to eat or drink, they should be allowed to do so with the caveat that they may have to move if the ‘seasonal tenants’...
