We discovered this restaurant by chance while strolling down a quiet street in Genoa. At the entrance, we were greeted by the bartender, who was also the waitress. Very friendly and with good English, she immediately explained that there was no fixed menu here — the dishes change every day. That made me even more curious. I ordered pasta with ragù, my wife chose pasta with pesto, my son also went for the ragù, and my daughter had a beef and cheese sandwich. The portions were generous, really big, and everything looked appetizing. My ragù was delicious: the sauce was rich, well-seasoned, and balanced, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. My wife also really enjoyed her pasta with pesto, but she simply couldn’t finish it because the portion was so large. I tried a little from her plate and realized that next time I won’t be able to choose between the two dishes. What surprised me the most was my son: he doesn’t like tomatoes or ragù, but this time he finished everything first and said he liked it. My daughter was served a big sandwich made with bread — simple, homemade-style, with a generous amount of cheese and meat. Even though she usually eats very little, this time she managed it all on her own — I didn’t even get a chance to try it. We chose the wine together with the bartender: we were offered a tasting, and with the very first sip, we found exactly what we wanted. For dessert, my son asked for a muffin or a cake — it was hard to say exactly what it was, but I had a bite and realized I had never eaten such a delicious dessert before. On a five-point scale, I would give it a 6. This restaurant left us with warm and genuine impressions. It’s not just a place to eat — it’s a family-run business where everything is cooked with love. We left full, happy, and with the feeling that we had been...
Read moreOn April 23rd, my wife and I arrived in Italy to begin our very first journey to this beautiful country. That afternoon, after visiting the lively Boccadasse Beach, we wandered into Taverna Bar Bistrot by chance — and enjoyed our very first meal in this charming land. The hostess warmly welcomed us with kindness and genuine hospitality, leaving a deep impression on both of us. The dishes were classic Italian home-style cooking — fresh pasta, handmade desserts, and authentic Italian coffee — all incredibly delicious. It was a dining experience truly worth sharing and remembering. We ordered: Farfalle with vegetables – zucchini, olives, carrots, and herb-infused olive oil made this a fresh and flavorful dish; Farfalle with meat ragù – a hearty, rich tomato and beef sauce perfectly paired with the pasta. For dessert: A creamy cheesecake-like dessert topped with crushed pistachios; A crunchy chocolate hazelnut cookie; And two perfectly pulled espressos to finish off the meal. Simple, satisfying, and full of heart – this place gives you a true taste of everyday...
