Cafè Sikelia — Restaurant in Giardini-Naxos

First time here today, they seemed busy with four service staff running around so it took a while before we got help and I noticed it was the same with the other tables! Food took long time for all tables today, from we came and sat down till we got the food it took about 50mins, which were quite long waiting time with four kids!

We ordered two pizzas, one linguine seafood and one spaghetti tomato sauce and none of it was anything special it was ok… when we finished the food I tried to get a service staff to come so I can pay it took a while too, and when I asked to pay and after 10mins nothing happened I then went to the bar and asked to pay!

Very disappointing visit. Started off well but the main dish, grilled prawns were unacceptable, not prepared correctly, with the waste tract still visible on one. A total put off! The chef was called over but I just said I didn’t want to continue eating it. There was a pesky wasp hovering, I know they can’t do anything about it, but inattentive staff were not interested in assisting. A very pleasant restaurant, where we were able to make our individual choice of dish. We also had a bottle of local red wine which was very nice. We followed the waiters recommendation and this was the first time my friend truly enjoyed a red wine as she prefers white. As we were there a little later in the evening, there was space available to change our table when we asked and the waiter was happy to help.
