Da Margherita — Restaurant in Giardini-Naxos

After having travelled most of Northern sicily over the previous week and eaten at numerous restaurants this was by far the worst in terms of the food. Pizza capriciossa was bizarrely covered in hundreds of peas (to be fair this was in the description), the egg instead of being fresh and cracked over the pizza and cooked in the oven was simply a sliced boiled egg added afterwards. Tasteless passata sauce. I tried to add some flavour with chilli oil but even this just tasted of olive oil. My wife's parmigiana di melanza was average. The people here are so nice, very engaging, and a pleasure to talk to. We had lots of laughs with them. The pizza is excellent! Perfectly cooked with a crisp crust and a light brown bottom.
