I visited this place with my girlfriend and my 4 friends on friday evening. It was the last day of my 2 week vacation, where I visited all of Sicily around, including restaurants. Something that surprised me a lot was the very inelegant treatment of new arrivals, and the lack of knowledge of the sovoir-vivre etiquette. The menu was brought to us, we were given a few minutes to think, bread was brought to us but we were still sitting at an empty table, without any plates. The waitress serving us, very nice, only when we chose the dish informed us that there are no more mussels (Friday, 8:30 pm, in the restaurant which mainly serves seafood). She proposed that for spaghetti (a restaurant specialty) that 4 of us chose, instead of mussels, the chef would use swordfish and other seafood. We waited another 20 minutes drinking prosecco when the waitress brought us food.
Pasta - it was overcooked, unsalted, the taste felt that prepared much earlier, totally tasteless.
Sauce - in Europe we are used to call it water, wet, transparent, also totally tasteless.
Seafood - the calamari was the texture of the gasket under the sink, hard, stringy, could not be chewed. On the whole plate were the 2 smallest prawns I've ever seen. Octopus very similar to squid, gummy, stringy, disgusting in taste.
After trying this dish, I complained to the waitress serving us, she offered to exchange dishes, which I did not use (because I tried all available seafood in this restaurant). My friends who ordered the same dish also had the same feelings about food as I do, it is not edible. I asked the waitress to take the plate and return it to the chef.
The waitress who served us, no longer came to our table, despite the fact that we sat there for the next 30 minutes. She passed us by, sended another waiters to took the plates from us, and we sat at the bare table again, we had to ask another waiter for the bill (meanwhile, she was polishing cuttlery behind window). When he brought the bill, I had to get up and ask the waitress serving me that I would not pay for my spaghetti which was a crime on delicious Italian cuisine. The waitress said that she had to ask the boss, after 5 minutes she returned, put the corrected bill and left without a word. Totally she was not interested in why the other 3 people who also ordered this dish, left it practically intact.
"Coperto" fee 2 euros / person - in this case a napkin. The service at this restaurant is nice, as long as...

If you come to Via Recanati 8, go down the stairs to the courtyard and ask for a table, you will receive a warm welcome. If you then take a seat and study where you are sitting, you will feel at home. At lunchtime, you shouldn't be surprised that it's so warm inside after airing out, but the air conditioning units are soon activated, the doors and windows are closed and the room is pleasantly cool in no time. In general, the service is very attentive and after the usual cards, you are greeted with a Vino Mandola (almond wine). But now the agony of choice begins among the primi and secondi ... What can I say, we have tasted a lot and the team brings it perfectly to the table. How happy and lucky we are to have found such quality. Whether Starter (Primi): Bruscetta, Caprese di Bufala e Prosciutto Crudo dei Nebrodi, Bresaola Top, Carpaccio fume della Casa, Tartare di Tonno affumicata al momento, Carpaccio di Tonno, Insalata di Mare, Polpo scottato, Impetata di Cozze, Polpo e Calamaro Speciale or Spagetthi alle Vongole Or main (Secondi): Involtine da Pesce Spada, Pesce Pada alla Grilla, Tonno Rosso Pinna Gialla, Calamaro alla Grilla or Gambaroni alla Grilla, I can only say one thing again and again: excellente, buonissime, mille mille grazie ... Heat menu - recommendation: Bruscetta and Insalata di Mare or Polpo e Calamaro Speciale with a glass of house wine Rosato from the region molto freddo ... My rating 5* plus,...
Read moreCompletely disappointed. The service was very subpar, there were at least 4 tables that ordered after us but ended up getting their food before us. The worst part was that we ordered the Entrecote medium rare, but it came out well done and very salty.
Dear Cristian and Irene, Thanks for the response to my review of your restaurant. You see, my order were as follows: bruschetta, pizza (1st course), and the Entrecote (2nd course). I should've clarified it, that's on me. I was referencing the pizza did not come until well over 30 minutes, to the point that my wife asked if the waitress forgot it. As far as the Entrecote, I ordered medium rare, so if that's medium rare then I have a bride in San Francisco to sell you, look at the pictures. That was a well done piece of meat, why would I have to explain the meat was extra salty? I didn't make it... Also bold assumption that I didn't know what I ordered, but hey you're right, I guess I should've went to a steakhouse instead of wasting an evening and a few Euro at...
