Oltremare Ristorante — Restaurant in Giardini-Naxos

Me and my fiance went for dinner here and the price was by far the best thing about the restaurant. Dinner only cost us approx 30 euros which is a fraction of what I’ve spent at other places in Sicily.

My fiance ordered the Diavola pizza. When it arrived, it was missing the olives. We sent the pizza back and it returned with 5 raw olives on top uncut (lol). The staff were nice so my fiance cut the olives, distributed them and took a few bites of the pizza and we paid without hassle.

My order unfortunately was no different. I ordered a margherita pizza which severely lacked flavour. It should have arrived with basil on top but didn’t, same situation with the Diavola. I’d like to think the pizza would taste decent with basil.

We both ate about half of our pizzas. We came to this restaurant after a long day at the beach so we were hungry and looking forward to good food. It’s disappointing we entered the restaurant hungry and left only marginally less hungry.

Beautiful presentation, but an underwhelming dinner experience

We had dinner at Oltremare Ristorante and were honestly a bit disappointed. While the plate presentation was visually stunning, the food itself was pretty basic — not quite what we expected given the higher price point compared to similar dinners we’ve enjoyed in the area.

The menu was extensive, but the overall experience felt rushed, which surprised us. We had hoped for a relaxed dinner, but it seemed more geared toward quick tourist turnover than offering a genuine local dining atmosphere.

That said, the food did taste good, which is why we’re giving this 3 stars. Maybe lunch would be a better experience, but for dinner, it didn’t quite live up to...

I would avoid this restaurant. The prices are low and for a reason. The service is altogether poor - our mains started to come out before we even finished our starters. Even though food started to arrive at the table while some were still eating starters, some members of our group were waiting 5+ minutes for their food to arrive, with the rest of the plates getting cold. The Risotto con Funghi was outright bad, unsalted, and flavourless. Two members of our group got the Linguine alle Vongole and were both terribly disappointed.
