Ristorante Pizzeria La Sirenetta — Restaurant in Giardini-Naxos

My friends and I didn't stay at the La Sirenetta Hotel but ate at the restaurant. The food was fabulous- well-prepared, seasoned, and cooked just right, not rushed but not a long wait either. My pennette 4 formaggi was delicious. My friends had the spaghetti alla carbonara, and caprese and antipasta rustica, respectively, and both agreed their dishes were the best we ate all week in Sicily. We had the house white wine, a delicious palate pleaser - I should have asked for a bottle to take with us! The weather was perfect for outdoor dining right off the street, and the canopy shaded us from direct sun. The area was clean, tables well-appointed, and the staff friendly, helpful, and attentive. The pizzaria wasn't crowded, but there was a steady flow of other diners, all of whom were enjoying themselves.

We'll be back in Sicily in August and plan to return not just for the wonderful dining but to stay at the hotel if we can get rooms with a sea view.

This was a very disappointing experience honestly. The service was inattentive (it took like 20+ minutes just to get our check and pay), the food was mediocre. The bread they brought to the table was nearly inedible. It was so dry and hard to chew. We each had one bite and left it. The fried calamari was some of the toughest I’ve ever had and was served without any tartar sauce or anything to give it flavor. The swordfish was unseasoned and lackluster. Food was prepared quickly, but pasta was really undercooked and taste wasnt so good (we had two house specials, cant imagine how tasted food that wasnt so highlithed) not much spices, only lot of herbs on the top. Wine was good. Whe we wanted to pay, we were waiting for maybe more than half hour (waiters were avoiding eye contact and didnt bother to ask if we want refill even thou we finished our wine shortly after our food)....
