We were staying in an apartment above the restaurant, so we got a good look at the busy times as well as the slack times. On our first visit, we were five persons and we went early without a reservation and without any problem. On a subsequent visit a week later, we went later in the evening with a group of seven, and made a reservation. In both cases, we ate well, and were treated with the utmost respect. One has to understand that it can get crowded and managing a busy enterprise like this is a daunting task. Also, Italians like to take their supper late, so if you go during those times, reservations are virtually mandatory. Being so close to the restaurant, and having eaten there twice, gave us a chance to get to know the staff. Lucia and Rosa were especially wonderful and helpful. I often came out onto our balcony early in the evening and greeted them from above as they awaited their first customers. The sunsets were delightful. I highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent location, service, prices, selection, and...
Read moreI was traveling alone. I waited in the queue like everyone else, and when it was my turn I asked a table for 1. They started to speak in Italian with 3 people behind me, and after I was asked to wait a bit. They left and accommodate those 3 person who arrived after me. I understand Italian and i heard them saying that they don’t have reservations either. After that, the restaurant personnel come back and told me that for the moment they accepted ppl only with reservations. I told them that I know that the ppl behind they didn’t had either, and told me in my face that because they were 3, but I can come back in 30’. I told that I will not and I will write a review. So Bottom line, if u are traveling alone, you have to invite people from the street to join you, if not, you cannot take a seat to their restaurant because they care more about the final payment of the receipt at the end, not the hospitality or the way they...

We did notice lineups so reserved a day ahead for two; would recommend this particularly if eating after 8:00PM. Serving staff have limited english speaking however made efforts and we also used Google Translate to communicate. It all worked out fine.

Total excluding alcohol was €30, which we felt...
