NON SOLO CICCIA — Restaurant in Grosseto

I think I have found the holy grail of steak. But let me tell the story from the beginning. I have eaten quite a few steaks in my life all over the world and also grilled them myself. We are currently on vacation in Italy and while exploring the area we came across this place, which is also a butcher shop. After eating a lot of regional fish this week, I figured it was time for a piece of good meat again. What I got was a perfectly prepared filet mignon, a real treat! The thought of this steak did not let me go also the day after, whereupon I went again to the butcher's shop to acquire a piece for the grill. It's been half an hour since I enjoyed the steak and I figured I had to write this review right away to pass on some of my euphoria to you. Dining at “Non solo ciccia” was simply a disastrous experience. We had an 8:30 p.m. reservation. Although they had no record of our reservation, they found a way to seat us. We ordered a steak (inquiring about the wait time) and were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. More than one hour later, we were still waiting for the steak and decided to leave. Da subito l'accoglienza è stata terribile, abbiamo chiesto a più camerieri se c'era posto (alcuni proprio ci hanno ignorato perché erano troppo impegnati) e un altro ci ha detto in modo confuso che avremmo dovuto aspettare un po'. Chiediamo dopo altri 5 minuti ad un altro cameriere di quantificare il "po" che c'era da aspettare e ci risponde che non lo sa, allora proponiamo, domandando se fossero stati prenotati, di sederci sui tavolini alti che erano liberi e ci viene risposto che per lui non c'era problema. Ci sediamo e passiamo altri 10 minuti a cercare di intercettare un cameriere (ce ne sono 3/4 ma pare che solo uno sia addetto alle comande) e quando ci accorgiamo che sta prendendo le ordinazioni di persone arrivate dopo di noi anch'esse senza prenotazione, lo facciamo notare a dei camerieri che ci rispondono in modo sgarbato che bisogna dare tempo alla cucina di organizzarsi data la grande quantità di persone, ma se uno ha un certo numero di posti a sedere la cucina dovrebbe essere preparata ad affrontare un certo numero di persone, altrimenti mettete meno coperti. Dopo poco arriva il cameriere per prendere l'ordinazione, anche lui in modo sgarbato, chiedendoci se avevamo prenotato perché secondo lui non avendo prenotato non ci dovevamo lamentare del fatto che non prendessero la nostra ordinazione.
