We were very much looking forward to this special restaurant on our last night in Stintino. The setting and the atmosphere make for a lovely dining experience. I personally feel that unless you partake in the tasting menu then your experience could be quite different. We booked for 8pm and 8.30 we had to request the wine we ordered, at 9pm the food was served. My husband enjoyed his suckling pig very much but my ravioli was cold, indigestible and sadly tasteless. I couldn't attract the attention of the staff as their time was dedicated to other guests. I eventually spoke to staff away from the table who tried very hard to rectify the situation but it was 9.30 by this time and I didn't want to eat so late when my husband had finished. They kindly removed the cost from the bill and offered a free yoghurt. I would have been satisfied with this but felt upset and humiliated when paying the bill the server discussed our issue with other guests quoting "from Great Britain". Your nationality should not matter when your food is...
Read moreThe restaurant is located at the edge of town, and the road in front is closed to cars. The view from the restaurant and the roadside tables overlooks the bay and the marina for boats and yachts, which is actually quite lovely. You can book a table in advance, and the staff speak good English – a pleasant bonus. Service is quick, nothing to complain about here.
Our first dish was a disappointment – we ordered the local fried cheese, but what we got was melted cheese on top of crisps, and it felt as if it had been microwaved. Either way, this starter is not worth €15. On the other hand, the grilled squid was absolutely delicious and very filling. The house wine, while fresh and refreshing, warmed up far too quickly in the heat, so it would be nice if it were served in an ice bucket.
Overall, they have honestly earned 4.5 stars. If they add photos of their dishes and more detailed descriptions, it would help attract more ratings and make it easier for...
Read moreThe food was nice, but the portions were far too small. The filindeu broth was served on top of the pasta at the table, meaning having to wait before it was ready to eat. This is a nice piece of theatre, but I think everyone should be able to begin eating at the same time. There were only two waiting staff (who were very friendly and attentive) for around 12 tables, which went down to one when one of them began making a meringue from scratch at another table. This is perhaps a nice idea, but not at the expense of most of the rest of the restaurant being served, especially when there are people with empty wine glasses, awaiting a refill, whose bottles have been stored away from their tables, and other anxiously awaiting their bill.
Also, playing Muzak versions of pop songs at any volume should probably be banned in public spaces.
It could probably be really good, but a couple of things need...
