The location by the beach is perfect but this is the only reason for giving to this place a star. The rest starting with the waiters who mostly speaks only Italian, continuing with bad services and ending with not good pizza. We visited la pelosa beach on 09.09., in total we would wait better services around if you take into account 3,50 reservation for the beach and 16€ per car!!!
Anyway we ordered 3 pizzas in the beginning, waiter came after about 15 minutes and told us that one of them couldn’t be prepared because buffalo mozzarella was gone already. So we said we will stay with only two pizzas left and cancel the buffalo then. The waiter didn’t understand even though he brought another one to let us explain what we wanted. Finally three pizzas came to our table, one with anchovies what we didn’t order and the third was waiting about 5 minutes before someone took it back. They didn’t bring spare plate even when we asked for that at least twice. Waiting for the bill took about 15 minutes. Payment is available inside with woman who doesn’t speak English. We were also charged for the service although we didn’t get any bread for starter and service was really poor.
The restaurant won’t let you sit without clothes but I don’t understand why. It would be understandable when the service and food was great what unfortunately isn’t this case.
Moreover I’ve seen the sad faces of other table guests and their food looked awfully overcooked, we even weren’t able to recognize what it was originally. They also complained and returned one of the dishes.
I don’t recommend to go...
Read moreIt is EXTREMELY SAD and DISAPPOINTING what happened to this place. Gone are the experienced waiters who took pride in the service they delivered. Replaced by teenagers who seemingly rather not be there. I wasn’t able to spot Vermentino on the (now very limited wine list scribbled on a single messy page inside a plastic worn-out pocket) the waitress told me to go check with the guys at the bar?! The pasta portions are substantially smaller than before - I can’t comment on the other dishes as both of us had pasta. Had to constantly search for a waiter/waitress for every single thing - the wine list, when we wanted to order etc and the bread and olive oil arrived moments before our mains - after I had to go and request it inside. No-one even once checked if we wanted more wine, water, desert or anything else. Not once. Even the lovely light blue table linen have been replaced by cheap and nasty looking paper sheets and they use pebbles and cheap napkin dispensers to try and keep it from constantly blowing away in the breeze as they haven’t bothered with proper clips. The two tables either side of me struggled with this as they tried to eat whilst fighting a floating tablecloth and complained too. This used to be a highlight of my annual trip to La Pelosa but sadly the view is the only splendid feature left at this - now very substandard - restaurant. Someone capable, please take this place over and restore it to its former glory 🙏🏽 *Also the opening hours on this listing is wrong as the kitchen closes 3pm and then re-opens for...

We were two women visiting this restaurant and simply asked if a table was available. The staff told us everything was fully booked and no tables would be free for at least two hours. However, shortly after, we saw other groups—including walk-in families without reservations—being seated right away. When we asked again and pointed this out, they denied it and insisted those guests had reservations, even though we clearly heard them asking for a table without one.
When I challenged this, the staff member rudely turned away and ignored us. I tried once more, saying “You didn’t even ask for our name or offer to take a reservation,” but they just started yelling at me in Italian. I repeatedly asked them to speak in English (which they clearly understood), yet they kept shouting in Italian on purpose.
It was aggressive, humiliating, and deeply unprofessional. We noticed they also treated three other solo or duo female foreign travelers—non-Italians who spoke English—the same way. Meanwhile, large local groups and families were accommodated without any issue.
I’ve traveled extensively across the world, but I have never experienced this level of dismissiveness, sexism, and subtle racism in a restaurant before. If you’re a woman traveling alone or with another woman—and especially if you’re not Italian—I strongly advise you to stay away...
