So before I sit, I always ask if the restaurant accepts American Express credit card, because very often in some European countries they don’t. At this one, a waiter told me they did. I sat and looking at the menu I saw right away this had been a bad choice. Very expensive prices for a very low quality food. As I was hungry and didn’t have much of a choice, I stayed. I ordered fried chicken, with frozen french fries and some eggplant, and asked again if they were sure they accepted my credit card (it was a new waiter). He joked and said to me that if not I would be washing dishes to pay the bill and I shouldn’t be worried because if his colleague said so, there won’t be a problem. Before the bill came this second waiter started chatting with another one and then asked me if I remembered the face of the first waitress and I said I didn’t. I asked him back if there was a problem with my credit card. Again, I was said no to worry, that should be fine. I proceeded to pay at the counter and the lady informed that in fact they don’t accept American Express. She didn’t speak any English, but I understand Italian and she kept saying her friend (who helped translating), that she couldn’t do nothing. I told her I asked the waiter several times the waiters and she asked if I remembered the face of the first one. Of course not!!!! But I’m sure he remembered mine and he watched the whole scene without saying a word. I was looking like a idiot, like someone who didn’t want to pay. Every single person was looking at me!!! No excuses, nothing !!! It was not my mistake. I didn’t want to ruin my vacations and call the police (plus I didn’t remember this guy’s face) so I was obliged to pay with another card I had, that I prefer no to use. As I was leaving the place the second waiter said sorry but I never got to see the face of the coward that made me good trough this shame, neither got a word from the lady at the counter, excepting that I had to pay. They feel they can behave like this because they don’t have regular costumers, just tourist that...
Read moreThe most beautiful thing about this restaurant is the view towards Pelosa Beach. For drinks I had this non-alcoholic cocktail called Shirley temple. I just loved it! The fresh orange juice was nice, and the other cocktail from the photos I don’t remember what it was (was my husband’s order). The burger sandwich was very tasty and mediterranean 😅. The Pelosa tuna salad was simple, nothing special. About the fried calamari I wasn’t happy - but this is about circumstances, because the wind was so strong that the food got cold in an instant. The staff was very friendly and honestly was the only one I encountered on this island to speak english so good. I dearly...
Read morePerfect! I highly recommend this bar. Amazing food, excellent service, and a gorgeous view.
Today we ordered two sandwiches: one with prosciutto and mozzarella (Bay watch) and the other with chicken schnitzel and lettuce (Tavola rotonda). Both were fresh and really tasty. We also had French fries with ketchup, along with water, beer and coffee.
The service was outstanding- fast, well-organized, and very friendly. The manager or owner is doing a fantastic job, as everything runs smoothly.
You can also pay by card and payment is made directly to the lady at the cash desk, which I think is a great idea. Perfect experience, I hope to...
