If you are looking to have authentic Sardinian food this is the place! If I could give more than five stars, I would⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food and the service were excellent. On the menu there are two options for a prix fixe. They both include a variety of authentic Sardinian food. The first is €40 per person (minimum 2 people) and the second is €50 (minimum 2 people). The only difference between the two options is that for €50, you have a few more dishes. Both options include A LOT of food so make sure you are hungry. The other option is an à la carte menu with dishes individually priced. We chose the €50 prix fixe and it did not disappoint. We started with an amazing charcuterie board with fresh local cheese and cured meats, accompanied by olives, artichokes and an amazing crème fraiche cheese dip. That was followed by three pasta dishes: a lasagna, ravioli and gnocchi (all made fresh and made in house, by hand). Next was sweet and sour pork that reminded me of my grandma's recipe. The pièce de resistance was the famous Sardinian dish, suckling pig, accompanied by roasted potatoes with delicious olive oil drizzled on top. Finally desert was a lovely homade cake. We had a carafe of homemade red wine with dinner that was excellent. People who give this restaurant bad reviews don't know good food or the cost it takes to deliver, local, fresh, homemade meals. Instead of being served as a proper sliced steak, it was chopped into small pieces that resembled leftovers, overcooked and lacking any finesse. It felt like a once-good cut of meat was completely mistreated.
Service was also a major issue. We waited almost an hour for our food, with little communication from the staff. When the food finally arrived, it included pork leftovers that seemed reheated rather than freshly prepared.
With both poor food quality and slow, inattentive service, this visit was disappointing from start to finish. I wouldn’t return, and I can’t recommend...
Read morePerfect location and a fresh, local menu. We sampled some great local wine, and had the ravioli and porcheddu (roast pork) with potatoes. It was absolutely delicious and easily the best meal we’ve had in La Maddalena. I disagree with the comments about small portions. Some dishes like rhe pasta seem small but they’re a first course, and also very filling. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We would absolutely recommend coming...
