Pescheria Friggitoria Puffer Fish — Restaurant in La Maddalena

Food was fantastic but service was pretty muddled.

It’s very busy and you put your name down with a phone number to be called, except we rounded back a few minutes later and saw other walk-ins being seated before we were called. So stick around and queue, basically.

Then they got our order wrong and my friend had to wait for her plate to be redone. Ironically, the table who’d walked in ahead of those on the list complained to the waiters because we got served food before they did.

The food was worth the wait, though. The Gran Fritto Pufferfish was HUGE and so tasty - sometimes fried food can be a bit gross and heavy, but this was amazing. My friend’s grilled squid was similarly amazing - so fresh and well cooked. It’s expensive, but it’s delicious.

We went to the restaurant today in the lunchtime.

First we ordered 2 Local Oysters and 2 French Oysters and 1 Fried Squid and King Prawns

Ooooh 🤭 the oysters were super delicious, smells good and tastes so sweet and we can feel the freshness (prefer the local one)

The fried squid and king prawns were not our cup of tea this time. It includes 3 king prawns and several squid, mostly vegs but its fine tbh.

The oysters were so tasty that we ended up call for 8 more 😂 never regret

The services were great. The guy (we think as an owner, young), he was super cool that offered us Vodka and the Local Red Schrimp (which was also delicious), all we can say is really competant

The ambience is also nice ( inside and outside areas with nice temperature)

We will definitely go back there ❤️❤️ for sure

Had a reservation for 8 pm. At 9.30 we still didn't have any food. During the first 1,5h we were informed that we need to change our starter because what we ordered was not reserved for us but was finished. After another 30min, we were informed that our alternative was finished, again. Very disappointing. The only starter, that actually made it to the table, the mussels, were good. Once the main dishes came, the tuna, the salmon and the dorada were blackened and tasted burned. Some of the tuna was medium, some was too dry, very inconsistent quality on the same table. Again, no recommendation. The fry plate was OK but not that tasty and pretty fatty.

Generally, a disappointing experience both from the service and from the majority of the food, especially for the price. You can find a better place for...
