Osteria da Liò — Restaurant in La Maddalena

We spent 2 lovely nights at the bar, sitting outside at the nice street facing patio, drinking and eating small and tasty antipasti. It would be a 5 star review, but unfortunately, this is an restaurant and on the 3rd night we've booked a table for two for a dinner...

We have been seated inside, on plastic chairs, by a plastic table in a room having the looks and atmosphere and looks of a storage room.. and also have been partially used like that. We have been seated and then ignored. For a veeeeery long time. When a waiter finally arrived we have been so happy to finally see her that from a pure joy we have ordered our drinks and 4 courses for each of us, hoping from now on it's going to go fast. But after we have placed our order, we have been waiting again. And waiting, and waiting... 25 minutes until our drinks arrived. That's when we cancelled our order and left.

One star for the excuse of the owner that did not let us pay for our drinks. This place needs an interior designer and staff, that understand the meaning of the word "attentive". Worst...

Really disappointing experience. For me, as a vegetarian, there were no options except some grilled vegetables – which I’m happy to eat – but the portion was tiny. The service was terrible: the waitress messed up our order three times and even brought us the dishes from the table next to ours. Two people at our table ordered pasta with mussels and pecorino, and it looked like they were served only half portions; compared with other tables, it honestly seemed like one portion had been split into two plates. At the end, we were asked to pay in cash, which felt very unprofessional, and when we questioned the bill – which was outrageously expensive for what we had – the waitress rudely said: “Just divide everything by four.” A terrible experience overall. Go anywhere...

Irritated. Our first visit was pleasant enough - very busy but the food was good even though service was poor (need more staff). Second visit was a bit quieter. Once we were seated our waiter approached and without hesitation told us we had underpaid our bill on our previous visit (by 7 euros I think they said). We were quite obviously shocked and confused and could not remember anything about paying the previous bill (and we still can't...it's not something we choose to remember!). He then proceeded to bring out his colleague to back up the case, all of which was said loudly in front of all the diners in the outdoor area of the restaurant. Upon reflection maybe I had mistakenly not put enough money down, or they gave me the wrong bill, either of which it was not checked because they were so busy! Regardless, the way the staff went about the matter was completely inappropriate and humiliating. Needless to say we did not eat there the second time and left the restaurant.

Irritato. La nostra prima visita è stata abbastanza piacevole - molto affollata ma il cibo era buono anche se il servizio era scadente (bisogno di più personale). La seconda visita è stata un po 'più tranquilla. Una volta che ci siamo seduti il ​​nostro cameriere si è avvicinato e senza esitazione ci ha detto che avevamo sottopagato il nostro conto alla nostra visita precedente (da 7 euro credo che hanno detto). Eravamo abbastanza scioccati e confusi e non ricordavamo nulla del pagamento del conto precedente (e non possiamo ancora ... non è qualcosa che scegliamo di ricordare!). Poi ha proceduto a portare fuori il suo collega per eseguire il backup del caso, il tutto è stato detto ad alta voce di fronte a tutti i commensali nell'area esterna del ristorante. Riflettendoci forse non avevo messo giù abbastanza soldi, o mi hanno dato il conto sbagliato, nessuno dei quali non è stato controllato perché erano così occupati! Indipendentemente da ciò, il modo in cui lo staff ha affrontato la questione è stato del tutto inappropriato e umiliante. Inutile dire che non abbiamo mangiato la seconda volta e lasciato...
