Da Salvatore — Restaurant in Lignano Sabbiadoro

If I were to rate this place just for today I'd gladly give it a 1 star review, yet we've come here multiple times in the past years and I can't rate it any lower than 3. Food is amazing and service is usually good.

Yet today the service left me speechless. I have no problem waiting for drinks, food or the bill at all, with a lot going on in rush hours etc it's fine with me and to be honest, should be for everyone in the restaurant.

He was quick to get our drinks, little bit of a wait to get our food order taken. Which is fine. I was finished with my pasta before the pizza arrived. Which is also OKish.

Yet when it came to asking to get the bill it took for ever. Not because there was too much going on at this moment. No, it was because he felt the need to stand at another table that had already finished dinner and did. Not. Stop. Talking. At this point 4 other tables had turned their heads because well, what's the look of a restaurant if one of their head waiters ignores an entire station to talk to one table.

I turned around a few times but was ignored until I told him that we would like to have the bill. Without having a glance over, just raises his finger and says he'll arrive soon in the most high and mighty way possible.

OK, we'll wait. But he just. Keeps. Talking. After another few minutes I told him again, this time possibly a bit rude too. He then turned immediately asking if I was in a hurry and he'd bring the bill. Well no, I'm not in a hurry I'm on vacation. I just don't want to be treated like second tier citizens.

As he arrived with the bill he explained it was OK to wait for 5 minutes and rented on if I was in a hurry etc. Even asking me to get my money out quicker.

All in all that is miles below the standards you should serve in a place like this. Or actually ANYWHERE.

In conclusion, we love this place, thus giving it 3 stars instead of 1 for the unfriendliest service and most arrogant responses I have ever heard from a "waiter".

We visited this restaurant at the very end of the season, but you would never be able to tell – everything was absolutely perfect. The whole experience was wonderful. We tried a few other places in Lignano, but we kept coming back here for the exceptional culinary experience, and for the rest of our holiday, this was the only restaurant we chose to visit. Every day we tried different dishes - seafood pasta, risotto, or grilled squid, everything tasted great.

A big part of the unforgettable experience was thanks to our waiter, Ciko. He truly made it extraordinary – always friendly, attentive, quick to help, and with the best recommendations. He created a fantastic atmosphere for us, even on rainy days. It wasn’t just the amazing food, but also his hospitality that made us look forward to coming back again and again. Also the tiramisu...

A Wonderful Dining Experience at Da Salvatore

We had a fantastic evening at Da Salvatore. The food was absolutely delicious – full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was cooked to perfection, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients.

The wine selection was impressive, and the bottle we chose paired wonderfully with our meal. It’s clear that they take pride in offering great local and Italian wines.

What truly made the evening special, though, was the staff. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly from start to finish. We felt very welcome and well taken care of throughout the night.
