Surfer Joe Cafe & Diner Livorno — Restaurant in Livorno

This seemed like a really fun place, with a wonderful atmosphere and live music. I was going to have a glass and order dinner, but even though there was several open tables, I was told, rather abruptly, that I would have to ask for seating, so I went to the front and waited in a loose line. When it came my turn to ask for seating, the girl bartender in front dismissed me and helped someone else even though she knew that I was next, maybe she doesn't like foreigners, who knows. When she finally acknowledged me, I was told that I couldn't have a table, as I wanted, and that I would have to sit on a bar stool with a narrow counter, against the window. She was rude and dismissive and she wasn't the only one of the staff that I interacted with, that was like that. It wasn't as much, what they said, but how they said it, so much for customer service. Maybe they should put a sign outside saying no foreigners or we prefer groups, not single customers. That's fine, Livorno only has about a thousand other resteraunts who do serve single customers and have great customer service. I had one drink and left without ordering dinner. I won't be going back there again and I wouldn't recommend it either. Quality service is a cornerstone of any good dining experience and they didn't have it, not at all, and the rudeness just confirmed my conclusions. Arrive 4:30pm, ask the woman at the front if we can eat there and she says sure so we sit down and go to order food, Waiter says you can order food at 6 when the kitchen opens, ok fine no problem even though you literally just told us we can eat there, I’ll have a beer and the kids can hang for a bit. 6pm rolls around, I go to order, she says I have to wait till 6:10 to order, ok. I come back at 6:10pm, she points me to a waitress. We go get the waitress, who grabs menus and sets them at a table far from where we had been sitting since 4:30. She says we can’t sit where we had been sitting since it’s “reserved”, there is no sign saying it’s reserved anywhere and had already been sitting there for 1.5 hours. We left, absolutely terrible service. These people could care less about you, if I were the owner I would fire them all...

Allora la nostra situazione e stata molto difficile per diversi motivi. Noi eravamo un tavolo da 6 Appena arrivati per chiedere un posto ci anno detto che tutto il loCale era pieno E fino e qua niente di male ma loro ci anno detto che ci avrebbero richiamato loro entro 40 minuti. Quindi noi ce ne eravamo andati. Ma dopo oltre un ora e mezza siamo andati a chiedere spiegazioni dell perché non ci avevano ancora chiamato, e chi era al bancone ci a detto con area scocciata " a si, vero" e ci anno dato un tavolo da 4 e per questo noi avevamo dovuto chiedere due sedie e quando loro lo anno saputo sono venuti a le " leticarci " perché stavamo disturbando altri clienti Come se fosse colpa nostra. Ci sono venuti dopo 2 minuti a chiedere cosa volevamo mangiare e noi visto che praticamente ci eravamo appena seduti non avevamo nemmeno visto il menù e quindi quando glielo abbiamo detto Lei con area che sembrava guasi schifata a detto si però vi dovete move Quando eravamo pronti ci sono venuti a chiedere cosa volevamo. Visto che noi non eravamo di Livorno facevamo un po' di fatica perché alcuni termini non sono del tutto uguali ( siamo maremmani tranne un amico che era Polacco) E quindi il cameriere che e venuto a prendere l ordine ogni volta che non si capiva qual cosa sbuffava. Un altra cosa che e successa durante l ordine e che il nostro amico polacco non parlando bene italiano dovette usare Google translate e il cameriere lo disse che usare il cellulare mentre si parla con qualcuno e maleducazione anche se noi li sera già detto più volte del problema. Quando alla fine abbiamo finito l ordine e il cameriere se n'è andato si e seduta una famiglia di 7/8 persone accanto a noi con chiari accento lovronese infatti a loro sono stati super gentili anche se come noi erano la prima volta che venivano qua. Ora la parte secondo me peggiore Perché quando noi eravamo arrivati già da più di una mezz'oretta ancho non si vedeva l aria del cibo Ma la cosa che ci a fatto infuriare e stat che a quelli accanto a noi gli e arrivato il cubo dieci minuti dopo che loro avevano ordinato ( loro avevano ordinato cose simili alle nostre ) una cosa che abbiamo notato e che le persone che venivano da Livorno o da dintorni venivano trattate col guanto d oro.
