I do not often post reviews, but in this case decided to make an exception. I visited this restaurant at the last evening of the windsurfing vacation I had together with my daughter in Sardinia. Coincidentally it was also my daughter’s birthday so we really had something to celebrate. It was a nice evening and we enjoyed a bruschetta to share as a starter on the terrace which was nice. Subsequently I had a pizza I 4 Vento end my daughter had the Frutti Di Mare pizza. The pizzas tasted ok (not spectacularly), but unfortunately thats not where it ended for us…. when we arrived in our appartement for our last night of sleep (we had to fly back the next day) my daughter felt really sick. It turned out the shell fish (mussels, crab, octopus clams etc) that Il Ghiottone had used for her pizza were “far from fresh”. A challenging night followed in which she/we got very little sleep (as her stomach didn’t agree with its contents) and we were quite concerned the flight back could even be compromised as a result. Thankfully we had packed everything in advance, and by doing everything really slowly the next day (taking sufficient precautionary measures) we survived the trip back without creating any ‘collateral damage’. All in all, I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone that has an important appointment or trip the next day, and if you do I certainly suggest to stay clear of the (shell) fish but focus on non perishable goods (maybe some breadsticks?). I contacted the restaurant through WhatsApp the next day (and a couple of times thereafter but given their complete lack of response I in the end decided to share my experience through this review -...
Read moreCan't rate the food because we could not eat there, the staff's behaviour is disrespectful. We tried 2 times to go there, 1st we sat at a table at 2PM, it was almost full there, but a waiter came to us and told that it is closed and left, no explanation, we could've tell us that they don't take any orders but not that it is closed, because clearly it wasn't. When we left we saw that he's gone to a table to take the order. 2nd time we went to dinner, it was 18:20, people were waiting for them to arrange the tables, at 18:30 some people sat at the tables, I went to a waiter who didn't look at me and asked him if we can sit. He said no and I looked confused at him because I saw others at the tables and I asked him why. He said just "reserved" without looking at me. How the hell should I know that? He could have explained to me with more words and tell me when we can eat there. So we left and never came back. They don't deserve our money, not if they take their customers...
Read moreIt has been years since I last indulged in such a mouthwatering seafood soup. The experience of eating it with my hands, despite the messiness, only added to the enjoyment. I initially ordered it as a starter, but it could have easily passed as a satisfying main course. The soup was generously packed with an array of seafood, including prawns, longoustine, crabs, and more. The sauce was a delightful combination of flavors, with a subtle hint of chili. Undoubtedly, it was the highlight dish of the evening.
The fregola, while enjoyable, didn't quite match the abundance of seafood found in the soup. Nevertheless, it was still a tasty accompaniment. By the end of the meal, I found myself absolutely full and content.
As I glanced at the pizzas being served to other patrons, they looked incredibly tempting. I'm already eagerly anticipating my next visit, when I will surely make it a point to try one of those...
