We tried to rent a rubber boat from them. The regular full day price in August at other places in Palau is 250e. We inquired at their stand in the marina at about 14 in the afternoon and were willing to pay the full day price as that's the norm there, even though we'd get the boat for about 3 hours. They quoted us 310e. And that was because they were the only one who still had a boat available that day. I offered to pay the regular full day price that everyone AND THEMSELVES normally have, just for 3 hours, got a no: 310e fixed price. So we didn't rent it and they had a boat just standing in the harbour. There was another german family as puzzled as us as to why they are suddenly asking for 60e more for 3 hours. They didn't rent it either. Lose lose situation, zero flexibility and a "let's con the tourist" attitude. The funniest part of the story comes next: about 1 hour later we were in the marina again and went by the stand, which was manned by a different person. I thought I'd ask how much renting a boat costs. The answer: "we only rent out boats with a skipper". By comparison, I spoke to several people from the rental booths next to theirs and ALL, without exception, even though they had no boats to rent for the day anymore and stood to make zero profit from us, took a lot of time to explain to us the boats they have in great detail, how to get around the archipelago, what beaches are...
Read moreWe recently took a boat trip to explore the La Maddalena archipelago national park, and overall, it was a memorable experience. The itinerary promised stops at stunning islands, and we were excited to see the famous Spiaggia Rosa on Budelli Island, although it’s no longer pink and can only be admired from the boat. Our first stop was at Santa Maria, where we had the chance to swim in the crystal-clear waters while lunch was prepared onboard. Lunch was simple but enjoyable, with bruschetta, pasta with tomato sauce, coffee with amaretto, and white wine. Water was provided throughout the trip.
Skipper Alessio and his assistant Jonny were fantastic throughout the day. Both were knowledgeable and always happy to engage in conversation, making the trip feel more personal and enjoyable.
After lunch, we visited Passo del Topo for another swim, which was refreshing. However, the final stop at Cala Granara was a bit disappointing. While the beach is secluded, there wasn’t much to see, and the presence of flies made it hard to fully relax and enjoy the surroundings.
We finished the trip with some grapes on board before sailing back to Palau. While the tour offered plenty of beautiful sights, I was hoping we’d actually visit La Maddalena island itself, which didn’t happen. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, made better by the friendly and...
Read moreThis team is top notch. We had a fabulous day. I thought the write up on this trip was too good to be true but it was everything I expected and more. First you were greeted by the ladies at check in and they were kind and explained everything clearly to us. The captain Pietro and Denis (I hope i remembered the names correctly) were great. They were really professional and you knew you were in safe hands. They had a lot of knowledge about where to go, when, because we always got the best times for the beaches being quiet. We sailed too which was a lot of fun and the food and drinks on the boat were great. I would recommend this company without hesitation. I hope one day I will be back to...
