WOW! Where do you start? I've re-written this review twice in an attempt to condense it. However, it didn't do it justice! So I'm going all out, bare with me
Service - it may feel a little hectic, and verging on chaos, believe me it's not. The eclectic vibe that captures your imagination from the very first gaze into an emporium of fine wines, champagne and decor sets your adrenalin flowing. I witnessed many eager customers jostling to be sat to savour the excellent dishes created by the small brigade of chefs nestled away at the top of a small flight of stairs in their culinary capsule. For those that were met with disappointment, were as happy to take a seat outside and drink fine wines in the vain hope a table would come free.
Our first visit was not to eat, just to be drenched in the atmosphere, people watch and relax. Coupled with the most insane thunderstorm we remained seated, also drenched from the heavens above while service continued, umbrellas at hand to save the culinary plates being carried to the outdoor seating area - those customers too were undeterred, determined to be steadfast despite the torrent of water falling down their backs! That in itself tells a story!
Our second visit was to eat, mid evening and still eager customers challenging for a table. After a 40 minute wait (no ⛈️ this time) we were led to our table, food ordered and wine poured. The local house wine is perfectly acceptable, however the wine list is extensive and if your pocket allows a bottle of Cristal or something more special from the cellar it's all here. That in itself tells you they are very successful!
Before we are served, bread is brought to the table, the most delicious olive oil drizzled on our plates to be mopped up. Followed by the best spaghetti and meatballs drenched in a perfect ragu sauce, tangy and sweet, dusted in parmigiano
Still buzzing we stayed for one more drink. Attentive and friendly staff soon had a great raport going and learnt that it was my wife's birthday, we were about to leave as the maitre d rushed to the kitchen and came back with a portion of tiramisu complete with sparkling candle!
The waitress informed us that her grandmother of 84 still makes the tiramisu for the restaurant. It was the best I have had ever.
So, visit, be patient above all it's worth the wait or maybe you will get lucky and be seated quickly. Of course you can always book a table!
From us to you Casa Ferraiuolo you are...
Read moreCasa Ferraiuolo is one of those rare gems that effortlessly blends charm, authenticity, and exceptional cuisine into a truly memorable dining experience. Housed in a beautifully restored old tailor shop, the atmosphere alone is worth a visit — a perfect mix of history and warmth, with thoughtful touches that make you feel like you’ve stepped into someone’s lovingly kept secret.
The food? Absolutely outstanding. The bruschetta with salsiccia was a bold and flavorful opener, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The highlight of the evening, however, was the Pasta Mare Grande — a generous dish overflowing with the freshest seafood and rich, satisfying flavors that linger long after the last bite.
There was a short wait when we arrived, but the staff handled it with grace and generosity, offering a complimentary glass of Prosecco while we waited. It was a simple gesture, but it made a great impression — and once seated, it was clear the experience was well worth the wait.
Even as someone who typically avoids live music during dinner, I was pleasantly surprised when one of the waiters broke into song. Rather than feeling intrusive, the performance added to the unique atmosphere and charm of the place.
Casa Ferraiuolo is a restaurant with soul — where every detail, from the setting to the service to the food, is curated with care. Highly recommended, and definitely a place...
Read moreTwo friends and I had a long day of exploring along the coast. Our airbnb is in Maiori and while looking for dinner we came across Casa Ferraiuolo. The weather was perfect that night, we wanted to sit outside and the staff initially told us they wanted to seat us inside. I asked if we could sit outside and Antonio (he is a co-head chef with his brother Leo) explained to me a couple was leaving and offered us a glass of Prosecco while we waited. Things were already off to a good start.
For context, my mother is from Veneto, my grandparents and cousins still live in the region as well so I have a high bar for quality Italian food and dining experience, even as an American.
We ordered the big bruschetta - one Fresca and the other Salsicciosa, both were delicious. As entrees, we had spaghetti arrabiatta and spaghetti Ferraiuolo, both al dente and great dishes. I almost wanted to order another round for takeaway. We also ordered meatballs to share which I recommend. They serve local wine by the glass which we enjoyed and the espresso martinis hit the spot.
The service Antonio throughout the experience as excellent and we booked a reservation for two days later at Casa Ferraiuolo while we are still at the table. I never leave reviews but I highly recommend...
