Lido Paina — Restaurant in Malcesine

Reason for visiting: We wanted to spend a day on northern shores of lake Garda and we're looking for a place for lunch, sunbathing and swimming. Spoiler alert, aLido Paina ticked all boxes.

Would I visit again?: Definitely, perfect combination of a beautiful terrace, good food and a nice area with sunbeds and umbrellas + easy access to the lake .

Was the food delicious?: The food has very good quality for a restaurant directly at the lake and mainly visited by tourists. The menu is extensive and has Italian classics with a modern twist. We liked especially the grilled branzino, the mussels, calamari and swordfish. Aside we had a bottle of Trentodoc sparkling wine.

Price-performance ratio:: Fair I would say, the starter are around 15 EUR the mains 18 - 26 EUR. all in all a very fair pricing. We ended

Service style: Professional, well 9nfomed and efficient.

Atmosphere: Nice Al fresco dinning on an open terrace directly at the lake, could not be better. Large parking ground. Small but very maintained area for sunbeds and umbrellas for rent.

Service on entry all smiles could nt welcome you enough. Took our order for drinks and food. Everything good. Started arrived all good. Starters cleared without a word. Mains came fish and veg no potatoes. Called a waiter told him no potatoes. He walks off without a word nearly finishes seabass ( worst I ve ever had ) guy comes without a word virtually throws potatoes down and off he goes. Doesn’t merit even one star as we never got past the old guy at the door who waved off our party of 7 like he was on the flight deck of a carrier waving off an approaching jet fighter. We got it - they were booked but then he very rudely turned his back on us and walked away as we tried to inquire about options like splitting the group or a later reservation, etc. Your place may be full now Lido Paina but if you leave your door man there much longer there will be plenty of...
