Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had in Italy. The service from one particular staff member was completely unacceptable. His attitude was hostile, with looks full of hatred and contempt, and he was absolutely uncooperative.
Despite us approaching him with smiles and kindness, he responded coldly and rudely. Even worse, although he is clearly Arab (Tunisian/Moroccan—we heard him speaking fluent Arabic with others), he deliberately pretended not to understand either Arabic or English and insisted on speaking only Italian.
When we politely asked to simply split the bill between two people, he flat-out refused in an unprofessional manner. To make matters worse, he treated other guests with respect and smiles, while with us it was the exact opposite—an obvious and unjustified discrimination.
This was, without doubt, the WORST service we have ever experienced in a restaurant in Italy. It completely ruined our visit. I will strongly advise all my friends and family, never to come to this place.
Your reply has nothing to do with my review. I know Italian culture very well — Italians are warm, kind, and respectful. What we experienced from your staff, however, was the complete opposite. Hiding behind “culture” to justify discrimination and rude behavior is irrelevant and highly unprofessional.
A professional restaurant owner would take responsibility, address the complaint seriously, and show a willingness to improve. Instead, your dismissive response only reinforces the lack of professionalism we experienced in...
Read moreFirst and foremost, if you are looking for a well sized, good tasting pizza in Malcesine, then Pedro won't disappoint you. Besides the pizza we did have questionable service though. When we were seated, I immeadietly got the question if I had mussels. This came out of nowhere so I assumed they said muscles and said yes of course. I started collecting my strength thinking they needed me to lift a heavy pizza oven or something. To my surprise, moments later the waiter arrived with a fresh plate of mussels. Since we didnt order this, we reacted confused and asked the waiter if this was complimentary. He mumbled some half english half italian hoping that we would just eat it and pay for it later. After a while they took the mussel dish back and apologised for the crazy waiter. It felt a bit like a scam or a tourist trap, but we decided to still order the pizza because we were very hungry. The pizza was good and at the end of the meal we got 2 limoncellos and a bag of football shaped pasta as a way to make up for the trouble of dealing with the crazy waiter. This closed the whole experience of on a positive note. So if you go to Pedro's and they ask if you have muscles: just say yes, then refuse the mussels they bring you. React a bit disappointed and at the end of the meal you get 2 limoncellos and a bag of funny...
Read moreThe management of this restaurant is incredible. Best I've ever witnessed. Prices are very reasonable. Service is 5 star without a hesitation. Food is obviously fresh (it is noted in the menu if there is a dish which can contain deep frozen ingredients) and very tasty. We've been there 3 times for a dinner and took a take-away pizza twice. Everything we tried was well and properly seasoned. I recommend trying out spicy mussels in tomato sauce, gently sweet licorice risotto and creamy ricotta-and-spinach cannelloni. And also the pizza was one of the best I've had, rich on topping. And the service was fast! Pizza to take away is ready in 4 minutes in day hours, and if you dinner in place, you will be served, just at the right time, even more notable if you order multi-course dinner. Environment is pleasant, exceptionally clean and good smelling toilets. And you will get a shot of limoncello and a goodbye present after...
