Don Pedro — Restaurant in Manduria

We cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good experience on their vacation . At first the place seems like a nice and fancy place to eat but it only seems so ! We waited about 15 minutes for the waiter to write down the drinks we wanted . The drinks arrived iregulary and late . In one example they got confused and served some of us no drinks and wrong ones ! After about 10 minutes we could finally order our meals . after 40 long minutes 7 out of 8 got out meals . The meal of the eight person was not served at the same time as ours and the plate of fish that he ordered was on the counter waiting to be served . After 15 minutes the cold fish was served and to a request to a new one the waitress rudly said that that could not be done but took the cold uneated fish back . After that we wanted to leave and payed the bill . 16€ for seating which is normal here but still expensive . They charged too for the uneated cold fish which they took back ! And the waitress used “some people have nothing to eat” for an excuse for...

We had a great evening at Don Pedro — the atmosphere inside is really well done, with a cool vibe and stylish decor. The menu puts a fun twist on classic dishes (lemon zest on pizza was a first for us — and surprisingly worked!).

The food overall was impressive and enjoyable. There was a bit of confusion with the timing of dishes — some sides came out separately despite being requested together — but the staff were quick to apologise and sort it out. Everyone was polite, friendly, and helpful throughout.

The pizza stood out as a highlight, and while the pasta sauce was on the lighter side for a couple of us, the flavour was still solid. We had a great time and would definitely return — especially...

Se dovessi definire questo posto con una parola direi: improvvisazione. È proprio l’improvvisazione, l’inesperienza e l’inadeguatezza di chi ci lavora a fare da padrone in questo ristorante. Il personale (a parte un paio di eccezioni), completamente inesperto e inadatto, vaga nel vuoto senza fornire alcun tipo di supporto valido alle richieste dei clienti, anzi mostrandosi impacciato e scocciato. Una cameriera in particolare (la più anziana di quelle presenti) è stata di una scortesia e maleducazione rara: mentre vagava con le mani in mano, alla mia richiesta di poter prendere l’ordine faceva finta di non sentire ignorandomi salvo poi rispondere piccata e scocciata quando la mia richiesta si è fatta via via più insistente. Ogni tanto poi, nell’attesa delle pietanze, arrivavano a portarci cose mai ordinate, a un certo punto si è avvicinata una cameriera che “a tutti i costi” ci voleva rifilare delle pizze che non avevamo mai ordinato (avevamo preso dei primi) e quando le abbiamo fatto presente ciò ha pure avuto l’ardire di ribattere dicendo “Sicuri?” Ma secondo te se io ordino una cosa e mi arriva, che faccio la mando indietro???! Roba da matti. Quando poi arriva finalmente l’ordine, una parte di questo era completamente sbagliata. Avevo ordinato un primo “Pedro pesce” (con specifici e determinati ingredienti indicati sul menu), mi arriva un piatto con capperi, friarielli e tutte cose né previste sul menù né richieste da me…. fatto presente l’inconveniente, mi riportano la stessa pietanza con solo un’aggiunta di tarallo sbriciolato ma in un piatto diverso…. Il piatto in sé e per sé non era male, c’è da dirlo, ma non era ciò che avevo chiesto. Anche gli antipasti erano buoni. Dulcis in fundo: il conto è stato anche piuttosto salato a fronte degli inconvenienti subìti durante la serata e dell’esperienza complessiva (€30 a persona).
