Da Cardillo — Restaurant in Massa Lubrense

ABSOLUTELY LOVED this place!!

Ended up having an Airbnb very close to this restaurant, and we're glad!

Service was really nice and all the food was absolutely amazing!

Probably the BEST Fried Calamari I've ever had!! Crispy and large and perfect ratio of actual calamari to breading and just so good. Didn't need the lemon on the side either

Spaghetti with Pepperocini, Mussels, Lemon Sauce was amazing! Just a perfect amount of lemon flavor that wasn't overpowering. It also went really well with the vegetables and the mussels in there. Seafood flavor was not too strong either. Such a delicious pasta!

Bratwurst sausages were lovely. Not too salty at all.

Grilled chicken was also delicious. Large portion size here with 2 leg + thigh pieces. Had the good grill marks as well and good flavor too.

Fresh pineapple was unexpectedly good! Pineapple was actually sweet; Had no tangy flavor at all and so so good! Everyone loved it.

Eggplant Parmesan was just okay. Nothing wow about it, but not too bad.

Gnocchi alla Sorrentina was lovely. Very very soft and...

We have been there on a mid April Wednesday evening, the place wasn't crowded and we were welcomed despite no previous reservation. The restaurant has also a patio like space that during summer dining should be comfortable.

We went looking for a Pizza dinner but we realised that Pizza isn't the core of the kitchen production. The menu offers a nice selection of dishes of the local culinary tradition and a very interesting choice of beef cuts... Also the wine selections is wide. Additionally the have the dishes of the day board from which we selected the "spaghetti ricci e vongole". With a previous apetizer of local cold cuts and cheeses.

The pasta was good and well presented.... See the picture. Perhaps the flavour of lemon was overwhelming the expectation of salty sea ​​urchins flavour. But maybe this was just our personal opinion.

If you are visiting Sant Agata and looking for somewhere to eat this restaurant, a little walk from the centre, will not disappoint! I suspect this is the mainstay of the locals, at 22:00 when we left the place was full and all Italian families - it was a real privilege to be part of the experience (think mopeds arriving with bouquets of flowers for nonnas and big Amazon boxes for nonnos). The service was perfect, food absolutely delicious, atmosphere was relaxed. Will definitely be back here before we leave! Thank you for a wonderful meal restaurant Da Cardillo.
