I arrived in Sant'Agata on Wednesday 7th October 2020 and I was unsure where to eat; luckily I found the takeaway branch of this restaurant and while in there, I got chatting to the warm and friendly wife of the owner/chef who suggested we give the sit-down restaurant's 'full menu a try'. The takeaway was delicious and very filling and the terrible weather stopped me coming back out to the restaurant that evening. But I visited the next evening and decided to try a few dishes. "OH MY GOD"! The food was exquisite and I had what I can honestly say is the best steak, and homemade pasta I've ever had👌🏾🤪. Also, the seafood was amazing!
The season and time of the evening meant that the restaurant was very quite on Thursday so I had the thrill of peeking at the chef/owner through the curtain as he prepared my meal with pure passion and care... I love to cook myself and I always appreciate seeing someone who shares that passion for cooking. The meal I had there on Thursday night was so great that I went back for lunch on Saturday 10th October and tried the other half of the menu (pics attached)... Again, it was exquisite!
This place without question provided the best food I had on my trip to the Amalfi Coast. I went to a few places along the Coast but nothing came close to this place in terms of quality and taste... And let's not even talk about price... they're practically giving away the food for free here. So much so I tipped heavily just to stem the guilt I felt for paying so little for such beautiful food. I'm so so glad I...
Read moreI was on my way to Marina di Cantone and randomly found this place on Google as I was looking for a local restaurant, away from the touristic areas of Sorrento center and the beaches. The reviews on Google were good and decided to give it a go. This was a great choice. The best part was obviously the food. Here you can find well made local dishes, and although the place is not big, they have a good variety of dishes from the standard online menu and their daily menu (displayed on a board outside the shop) based on what is available that day. My vegetarian wife got zucchini flower filled with cheese, roasted mini potatoes and green salad. Although these dishes were simple, they were well prepared (other vegetarian options were available). I got a “primo” of linguini with what looked like a tartare of prawn, lemon and something else (sorry I forgot all the ingredients). The dish was fantastic, and different from what I tried before. My secondo was a salsiccia, full of flavour! We spent €36 including water and bread, which I think is a very good price for the service. We went there for lunch on Saturday 01/07 and the place wasn’t busy, however be aware that it is quite small (maybe 6-7 outside tables and 3-4 inside) and can get full quite quickly. Overall great choice and highly recommended if you want to try some well prepared local dishes without...
Read moreA very unassuming local restaurant boasting of slow cooking, does not disappoint. Tiny space with big flavors and ingredient focused. We were 5 and were told we could not all be served 5 entrees at the same time and that we would have to duplicate same orders in order to feed us all at the same time due to the tiny operation and kitchen. We offered to be served our choice of dishes as the chef could produce them and that worked! Everyone happy. Truly delicious food in the least expected place. We were lucky to find them open at the lunch time when most places close mid day in small towns. Fiore di zucca ripieno, Insalatona con mozzarella, Eggplant parmigiana, lasagna napoletana, spaghettone alla nerano, spaghettone cacio e pepe, tagliolini al limone con crudo di gamberi and finally panna cota. All truly a delight. It’s what we wanted in a remote place away from the trendy touristic rush. Kudos to this lovely quaint place which we were not expecting to run into but happy we did! Thank you team...
