I brought my wife and sons down to Ristorante Pizzeria Da Michele for a beautiful view to wrap up our vacation. The weather was perfect and we had great seats.
The waitress arrived and ask if we wanted sparkling or still water. We are not a fan of sparkling so we chose still. She brought a giant bottle and filled everyone’s glasses. We all took a sip and then realized it was sparkling….yuck. We let her know nicely that it was sparkling and asked her to replace it. She did…but it still showed up on the bill.
A little while later our pizzas arrived and they were average at best.
The pizzas were not cut in slices. We wanted to share so I asked for a pizza cutter. The waitress made a comment in Italian and proceeded to cut each pizza with a fork and knife.
We still enjoyed them and soaked in the amazing view.
Once our meal was complete my wife went to pay and I walked the boys around the marina. Come to find out the internet was down and they were not able to process the card. They asked for cash and she did not have enough to cover the meal.
They immediately got aggressive and said you have to pay. You cannot leave. Keep in mind this is a vacation spot and a “nice” restaurant. When my wife said she be more than happy to go to the bank ATM to get Euro’s they told her they would drive her….and accused her of trying to slip out on the check. They said they would drive her to ensure she came back. My wife was insulted and responded by refusing to get in a vehicle with them.
They then asked for her passport to ensure she would return with the payment. Ummm….no.
After some discussion we drove the 3 miles to an ATM and returned to pay the bill.
They did not thank us or offer an apology for the inconvenience.
And ….the icing on the cake….we still got charged for the horrible sparkling water.

Read moreRistorante Da Michele exceeded all expectations during our lunchtime visit. Despite being the only patrons at that hour, the food and service were nothing short of exceptional.
The standout dish for me was the risotto with lemon—a burst of freshness that left a lasting impression. Accompanied by a tartare made from fresh shrimps, each bite was a symphony of flavors, earning a perfect 10.
To complement the citrus theme, I indulged in the limoncello spritz, which added a delightful twist to the meal. It was a full-on lemon experience that surpassed all expectations.
Not to be outdone, the pasta with mussels and homemade tiramisu were equally incredible, showcasing the chef’s mastery of Italian cuisine.
Adding to the dining experience was the picturesque location with a stunning view of the sea. Although it was a small port with just a few boats, the serene ambiance added to the charm of the meal.
Overall, Pizzeria de Michel is a must-visit for anyone craving an unforgettable dining experience with delectable food and a...
Read moreI had a wonderful night here at Michele’s. Being a solo traveler it is very rare to have the service that I experienced tonight, I was given a fantastic table that over looked the harbour and the beautiful sunset. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was fantastic. The menu is typical for the area featuring many fish dishes but also a good range for all dietary requirements. Being a vegetarian and a creature of habit I chose all of my favourites caprese salad, walnut ravioli and tiramisu to finish (though I can’t get over the lack of alcohol in Italian tiramisu to what we have in England!) the bill including a bottle of red wine and a half litre bottle of water came to just over €50. To top off the evening there was a big family celebration for a lovely gentleman’s 80th birthday on the next table and they had a man playing the accordion to which the family were singing along with, which created a lovely atmosphere. Thank you to all at Michele’s for a...
