Ristorante Salvatore & Mafalda — Restaurant in Massa Lubrense

We had diner here in July 2022 during our holiday in Italy. We read the very positive reviews on Google Maps and decided to come here.

Food: We read the raving reviews and decided to try the tasting menu. In all honesty, we were a bit disappointed. The food was not that memorable. It was not bad, but after reading the reviews we expected a more vibrant and fresher cuisine.

Price: Compared to other locations on the Sorento peninsula, Ristorante Salvatore & Mafalda was overpriced for what they served.

We stayed at the Gocce di Capri resort just around the corner, a 5 minute walk away. We’ve eaten in many restaurants in the Sorrento area but this was the only one we returned to 2 nights in a row.

You’re welcomed with a prosecco and appetizers. The menu has something for everyone and they have glutenfree pasta for anyone with gluten allergy.

Can highly recommend the Burrata appetizer and the spaghetti with black truffel. The deserts were all Michelin worthy, with e.g. their own take on Tiramisu. The lemon tart was truly delicious.

What a wonderful family and delicious cuisine. My friends ordered fish and pasta dishes but several of us are vegan, including me, so the chef made sure there was no cheese/dairy in our food. I had 2-3 great options on the menu and I loved the pasta with truffle, and the pasta with purple cauliflower puree. We were welcomed with Prosecco, and Alessio, who is a professional mixologist and is part of the family and works at the restaurant, also served us limoncello from the factory a block away.
