I can not possibly say anything that would do justice to Zaghéra in Nerano. We got there at like 11:40 and the waitress informed us that the kitchen didn’t open until 12. There was a language barrier but between our phones we got it sorted out. So they didn’t open for 15 minutes, so we were sitting there trying to decide our next move. Suddenly the waitress comes back and tells us they will open the kitchen early. What! They started our food early! What great service. And they did it saying thank you and smiling! While we are our lunch, they sat down and ate theirs. And the food was AMAZING. I personally loved it, and did all the people I was with. We got a caprese salad, a mixed salad, a local spaghetti with zucchini, and a gnocchi dish. Our whole group loved the food and the staff. It all was so good. The kitchen staff came out to talk to us and asked how it was and how we liked it. Then they just chatted with us about where we were from and such. At the end we snagged a gelato and sang happy birthday to our waitress. It was her birthday. My 2 kids also told her happy birthday in Italian and she smiled and laughed and told them how great they were and gave them a hug and a kiss. To be honest, it felt like a family gathering more than a restaurant. The staff were awesome and very welcoming. There was big smiles all around. The food was great and the portions were good. The place was clean and very nice. I can’t suggest or recommend this place enough! If you are going to be in Nerano, you need to try out Zaghéra. You will not be sorry or disappointed. Great restaurant, kid and family friendly, great food and great staff. I can’t think of a single negative thing to say about Zaghéra except that we had to leave!!!!5 stars does not do this...
Read moreOkay…if you eat at one place while in Nerano. It should be here. Zaghéra is incredible. Besides the food being out of this world, I’m not exaggerating (the ink squid past with pumpkin and prawns was sublime). The food is fresh, well prepared. The setting and establishment is relaxed and fun. The waiters are so friendly and chatty, I learnt that Zaghéra is named after a game…like ‘hide and seek’ - Nascondino. Dinner hear in the quaint village with passing Vespas and dogs barking, elderly gentleman playing cards and the Italian vista is epic. Honestly this is the best meal we had in Nerano and Italy. 3rd meal we have had in a week and everytime is a pleasure. Make sure you kiss the chef on...
Read moreOn our honeymoon, staying in Sorrento. Walk/ran from Sorrento to Baia di Ieranto for our morning excursion, then ended up spontaneously stopping at Zaghéra for lunch. We got there a little bit before the kitchen opened so had a drink at an outside table while we waited 15 or so minutes. I had the squid ink pasta in a light pumpkin cream sauce with prawns and a glass of white - the best pasta I had on the trip. Fresh ingredients, unique dishes. The most delightful bar/kitchen, away from the chaos of crowds and right near the preserved land on the beautiful bay. Couldn’t recommend...
