My colleague and I made a reservation here on a Saturday night and it was one of the best meals I've ever had in Italy, and I've had many (I come every summer for a month). The atmosphere is magical with the inner courtyard and banana trees and garden. The service was impeccable...respectful, helpful, and with a sense of appreciation of the customer that makes you feel very at home. Chef Ruben took the time to introduce himself and offer a (gratis) amuse bouche, which was raw shrimp with cheese with soy sauce (how does this go together?...incredibly!). From that point on, we were in the hands of the waiters and Ruben. My colleague got the "Jackson Pollock" melanzane and and pasta nerano (with zucchini from the garden) and I got the marvelous polpo "luciano" followed by the best spaghetti vongole I've ever had (Ruben adds a subtle amount of reduced broccoli which transforms it into a whole other level, another "secret" preparation that must be tried). We put ourselves in the hands of our waiter for our vino bianco (a local Falanghina) which complemented everything very nicely. The evening was made complete when it unexpectedly rained and we all worked together to move under their covered porch, a gleeful way to further embrace the staff and our fellow diners! We will be back every year, henceforth. This is my new favorite restaurant in all of Italy...

Went here for a meal during our stay in Meta, we fortunately was staying directly opposite the restaurant.

We walked in one day to see the menu and the staff we're really lovely and showed us around and we came back a few nights later to eat.

We sat in the garden area of the restaurant which is absolutely stunning in the evening.. perfect for a date night! The food was absolutely delicious we went for the 4 course meat option and everything was so tasty and they were super accommodating. I didnt like the desert given and they swapped it for me straight away no questions asked (I didnt actually try the dessert but it was one I knew I wouldn't like regardless of how well done I'm sure it was).

We had the most sweetest waiter called Valero, he did everything with a smile and nothing was too much to ask he really was a bonus to the whole experience! He spoke excellent english and explained every dish as it came out. He even took time out between serving to take a photo of us on our Polaroid!

Overall an excellent experience and will be a fond memory of our trip! We are already keen to revisit the restaurant on our...

I had such high hopes for this restaurant but I was not as smitten as everyone else seems to have been after their meal. We walked in and the staff was very friendly. The chef also greeted us which was very sweet. The garden is lovely as everyone says. When my son and I first sat down we were served an appetizer that was panko encrusted and stuffed with ricotta. The texture was great however the flavor was not there. I would have liked it if the ricotta had a flavor that caught my attention more. My son got the linguine and clams. Pasta and clams were cooked very well. Also, the purple sprouts added a nice touch. However, flavor was also lacking in this dish. Strangely, was lacking salt and maybe some garlic. I got the cauliflower steak and this was more flavorful. It seems that the cauliflower was soaked in a vinegar orange sauce. It was overly soaked and made the cauliflower spongey. The cabbage on the side was nice along with the sprouts. I admire the chefs spin on certain entrees and their creativity. However, the flavors were not...

The welcome and introduction to the menu was great, and seeing the enthusiastic chef meet and greet guests at their table was admirable and added to the charming atmosphere created by the staff and the lovely garden. By far the most accommodating and jovial experience we had had in a restaurant during our holiday. Perhaps, I showed a little too much enthusiasm, or had too much wine, and therefore, couldn't explain myself, but in a well-meaning effort to enquire as to what sauce was on the vegetables - it reminded me of oyster sauce or miso - but, I think, I incidentally caused confusion when I said the sauce tasted fishy (oyster sauce hadn't occurred to me in the moment). I am still wondering what was on the vegetables. Apologies to the chef, if I did cause any confusion. Perhaps, you thought I was talking about the meat sauce.

We arrived in Meta, and after a full day of journeying we’re looking for someplace nearby for dinner. Found Tavernetta Cinquantotto on a Google map search and decided we would try it. The atmosphere was 5 out of 5 stars but the Food and Service were 6/5 stars. Christian our server was an excellent host, patiently translating the menu for us since there isn’t an English version of the menu (yet). The food was beautifully presented, hot, perfectly cooked and simply delicious!! We are only in the area for 4 nights but we are already planning to go back. Since it wasn’t a busy evening, at the end Christian introduced us to the Chef which was a special treat. Hopefully, news of this restaurant will make its way back to the folks at Michelin. This is a real Gem of a Restaurant.
