Calabrone 2 — Restaurant in Milan

We booked this restaurant for the equivalent of an American "rehearsal dinner". We cannot say enough positive things about our experience. We had a group of 25+. It was a multi-course event and we allowed "free reign" to the chef. We were not disappointed. Prior to the evening we selected some appetizers and primi for our celebration. What was presented far exceeded all expectations.

The food, wine recommendations (to complement our menu), and staff were superb. We asked for (and got) a local taste. Everything was cooked to perfection, and suggestions for wine complimented the meal delightfully.

I wouldn't hesitate to return...

È un ristorante principalmente di pesce, in alternativa fanno anche la pizza. Il servizio è ottimo sia rispetto ai tempi, sia rispetto ad eventuali richieste più particolari : riescono ad essere attenti nonostante spesso il locale sia pieno. Mi piace molto anche il fatto che vizino il cliente con "piccole/grandi" coccole tipo : foccaccina nell'attesa che arrivino i piatti, biscottini che accompagnano il caffè, lasciano la bottiglia del limoncello/amaro a tavola. Trovo che siano delle accortezze che mettano a proprio agio il cliente. L'ambiente non è eccezionale ma si può chiudere un occhio perché è compensato da quanto scritto sopra. Alcuni tavoli sono un po' troppo ravvicinati tra loro, pazienza si chiude un occhio anche su quello. Non perdono invece il fatto che secondo me la pulizia del bagno potrebbe essere più accurata e mi dispiace doverlo scrivere ma spero possano migliorare su questo aspetto che è tutt'altro che trascurabile. Quando si paga il conto, arrotondano sempre il totale di qualche euro. Per quanto possa essere una minima cosa apprezzo molto il gesto simbolico e pratico di non considerare il cliente una mucca da mungere, a prescindere. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo non manca. We (8 of us) had a great meal here - starter was lovely with a mix of bread/egg plant/sliced meats) and then a lovely sea food dish of squid and octopus…everything else looked overly from pizza to risotto (this had to be for two) to grilled fish, I thought it was very reasonable as we had a few bottles of wine, sparking wine and grappa - and it was no issues with splitting the bill so we each paid for what we had -...
