Il Diamante — Restaurant in Milan

I am completely gluten intolerant, not “lifestyle” GF, so Il Diamante was an utter delight. And since I’m vacationing (my usual return to Milan, Rome, and Sardinia to be with Italian family, so I got a clue, folks!), I’ll keep it succinct. Easy to find, decent amount of local parking. Clean, quiet, white tablecloths, nice table settings. Incredibly attentive—but not bothersome—staff. Only discontinuity is the owner in a Kelly green polo and trousers. He was low key, but I’d rather see him hanging around in at least a button down and slacks. My Italian SIL and her friend ordered non-GF. Same menu, different kitchens. Started with one of the best octopus salads I’ve had and GF Neapolitan focaccia (like pizza crust—rather than breadier Genoese focaccia—with olive oil and a pinch of herbs). The serving sizes were enormous and could have easily been shared by two or three. The focaccia was heaven: crispy and chewy. My SIL and her friend shared a grilled fish platter that was tasty, well prepared, incredibly abundant. Only downer was the salmon. Europeans are used to farmed salmon and the flavor was muddy. My pizza Napoli was also enormous, had a terrific crust (O Peperino’s is somewhat better), and, baby, if you like anchovies (I do!), this pizza will delight you. Easy sauce, easy cheese, fresh herbs, quality anchovies. Lemon sorbet for dessert: more of a slushy in consistency served in a champagne flute with a spoon and straw. Just the right sweet/tart. Gratis shot glasses with bottles of limoncello and mirto to end it all. Limoncello is common. Take the opportunity to try mirto. The one they served was smooth and lovely. Will return, and I’m certain my non-GF Milanese SIL will go...

Ciao mi chiamo massimo Devo dire sono migliorati molto,e ultimamente sono stato li con 2 bimbi Che loro sono critici anche se è buono Ma invece sono stati super contenti E ci siamo andatii 3 volte. I 2 bimbi ci vogliono tornare. Se ho tempo li porto il 28 luglio alle 12 Comunque detto fra noi : anno migliorato moltissimo.e li consiglio Ha tutti. Devo dire solo una cosa: Fate anche delle nuove pizze diverse dal solito Esempio c'è pizze che anno il bordo Ripieno esempio pomodoro mozzarella E fatele meno sottili qualche volta sotto e bruciacchiata,non è una lamentela Ma un suggerimento. Comunque grande bravi Per mio giudizio vi darei Il massimo del punteggio.

Siamo venuti a cenare io e la mia ragazza la sera del 4 Ottobre, e abbiamo passato una serata veramente fantastica, tra risate, ottimo cibo e birra. Il tutto senza mai sentirci abbandonati nonostante fossimo da soli e praticamente isolati in una stanzetta laterale, con una bravissima cameriera dall'accento dell'est (perdonami cara, ma non ricordo il nome nonostante me l'avessi detto) che ci ha serviti, riveriti e a tratti viziati per tutta la serata, consigliandoci sempre con molta pazienza e venendo incontro alle nostre esigenze e addirittura anticipandole quando, vedendoci esausti per il troppo cibo (porzioni meravigliosamente abbondanti), si è offerta di impacchettarci la grigliata mista per farcela portare a casa.
