Ristorante Lo Scarabeo — Restaurant in Milan

My review based on many visits. Open since the 70s, the Scarabeo is a small restaurant specializing in fish. The owner, Yaya, is a nice Egyptian who has the power to make an exceptional "spaghetto allo scoglio". Here you can also taste other dishes, but a good starter of fish and a spaghetti with seafood is what will make you feel satisfied. The house wine is light and cheap. Overall, here you can still have an excellent dinner by spending reasonable amounts. On order, it is also possible to taste an excellent "paella" or traditional egyptian delights. Personalmente non ho pranzato nel locale, ma sono tre giorni che sto subendo i postumi digestivi del mio compagno che ha trascorso un conviviale pranzo tra colleghi. Alla richiesta "cos'hai mangiato oggi??" - richiesta dettata per lo più da un odore nauseabondo che ogni sua cellula del corpo emanava - mi è stato risposto "Orecchiette alle cime di rapa". Bene, io non so in quale proporzione lo chef abbia rapportato l'ingrediente principale ai condimenti (l'esame obiettivo delle esalazioni lascerebbe supporre dieci spicchi d'aglio per ogni orecchietta), fatto sta che la mia casa ha lo stesso profumo della metropolitana rossa quando a viaggiare vi sono comitive di Indiani o popoli oltreoceano dalle variopinte abitudini alimentari. Che dire.... imparare a dosare i condimenti è la regola base per una buona cucina... che di buono per me...

It was really nice experience to spend the last night in Milano. Of course the food was so Italian way and Tiramisu was gorgeous! Thanks to the owner, I could know a lot about Italy:) I definitely visit when I come to Milano again....
