If you’re craving Chinese food while in Milan, this “Singapore” restaurant is a rather good bet. The menu is extensive and the ambiance is chic, accompanied by warm and attentive service. This is mainly a Chinese restaurant rather than a true “Singapore” restaurant. The dishes are mainly Chinese and not Singaporean/Malaysian and several options simply piggy back on the “Singapore” label while not being authentically Singaporean. Still, the taste is fine on the whole. Quantities are smaller than average but prices are fair. The signature “Singaporean” Peking duck offers deep fried duck and not roasted. The sauce was disappointing (salty dark sauce) instead of the original sweeter hoisin sauce. Kudos to the chef for emulating the original wrapper and thinly sliced spring onions. The fried prawn toast appetizer was a letdown and bad for value (tiny and expensive). The sweet and sour fried shrimps were good. The fried rice was a highlight of our meal.

Can fool me once, not gonna fool me twice;) The first time I tried it, it was many years ago, before my travels to China, HK and Singapore. I thought the food was good because I had no measure of comparison. Decades later, I can safely state that this is everything BUT a legit Singaporean or even just a decent Chinese restaurant. Food is adapted to bland European taste, service is snotty and unfriendly, but what’s most shocking are the unjustifiably high prices....
