The space is okay, and the touring exhibitions are great. Attending some of the finest museums and galleries in the world, I was overall unimpressed.
Sadly, there is not a discounted pass if you have multiple visiting shows a guest wants to see. For marketing purposes, my guess more attendees would visit both if there was a discount.
Also, when I was there, when they opened first thing in the morning, the staff in the permanent collection were not ready. Guests are ready to see the work and not wait for staff to get into place. After all, it is 930 a.m.
I was also greatly disappointed by the customer service of the staff. I arrived 45 minutes early. There was nowhere to sit except in the sun in the direct summer heat. I instead sat on the metal steps in the shade. I was told in a very stern fashion to move. I moved aside but was instructed I could not sit there at all. I asked where I could sit and was told in the sun. I told the staff that was unacceptable. I am recovering from melenoma.
It would have been so much hospitable if the staff welcomed me with a friendly hello and then instructed me inside to wait for the entrance to open. Instead, it was a toxic encounter that left a very bad first impression.
There are so many museums in Milan. Go somewhere else and put this one further down...

Visited the permanent free exhibition The Permanent Collection - dedicated to European colonialism, where I learned about the history of Italy, especially colonialism, and this topic is rarely touched upon anywhere. I think this is one of the most thoughtful ways to present colonialism around the world, taking into account the consequences, the trauma, and the path forward to a better and more inclusive society.
The second exhibition that I came to in the same museum by chance, without planning in advance - Vincent van Gogh pittore colto. The museum is modern, but the solution to the exhibition, in this case Van Gogh, was magnificent. A fantastic exhibition with a historical chronology explaining the artistic development of the artist. About 40 exhibited works brought from the Dutch museum. I learned that Van Gogh had a passionate interest in books and reading, and that the artist was also fond of Japan and collected large quantities of Japanese prints, which are also presented at the exhibition.
Excellent work by the exhibition curators, delight and...
Read moreAn elegant and spacious bar beside the entrance of the Museum. Quality of food and beverages is very good (I had a delicious orange juice freshly made), but what I did not like is the attitude of employees. I visited the Museum on Jan 1st and understand that it is a particular day, but when you are facing the open public you must show kindness and sensitiveness, while they were shouting at people entering / exiting the bar from security doors (that look like normal doors), or accessing the bar directly from the Museum. It is indeed srrange that the bar closes before the Museum closes, this may be disappointing for visitors that cannot complete their experience (as they can do, instead, in the Museum store). I asked for some fresh milk for a coffee, and answered rudely from the waiter to help myself from a pot on the other side of the counter. If the personnel is not enough to cope with the influx of visitors, the Museum management and the bar management should agree a proper coverage. It is a pity after a nice visit; we were with kids, that could not understand such a...
