Food review.... this is only about the beef pho soup. It's a hit and miss. The noodles were somewhat tough, you really had to bite through them. However the beef itself was absolutely delicious, very tender and very flavorful. Green limes (not yellow) highly appreciated for this dish, but no cilantro or Thai basil were given.
The dish tasted more like Mexican "caldo de res" soup than pho, which could be good or bad depending on you. The portion was the smallest pho I've had anywhere. For the same price, most Vietnamese restaurants serve double the amount. Also there was a 3€ "coperto" charge on the bill for "the service"... a sort of cover charge for letting you in the door??? The whole experience was a 50/50.
The server and the cook were great! Very friendly and they make you feel at home and welcome, like they've known you forever and THEY APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS AND KNOW THAT AS A CUSTOMER, YOU HAD A MILLION CHOICES WHERE TO SPEND YOUR MONEY BUT YOU DECIDED TO PATRON THEM AND THEY ARE APPRECIATIVE. Isn't that why anyone opens a business? Perhaps I would return for the warm friendly service with a smile, if not...
Read moreIt’s can be an ok Asian Restaurant but not a Vietnamese one as I expected. There is no English menu, but Italian and some Vietnamese words. It’s an issue for my bf cause he’s from the UK. The set menu with Nem, Pho bo and Buncha is ok. But if u know about Vietnamese cuisine you know that Pho soup is the most important part of it. That they didn’t make it as good but some flavour and a very strong 5 spices taste. Banhcuon is not bánh cuốn at all but some fillng on rice paper that so dry and so disappointed. The rice that I have with vịt nướng is clearly undercooked, so dry. I had to wait for my rau xao to try to have some food ‘cause I was so hungry when I got there.
I was so excited to have some Vietnamese food among the paradise of pizza and pasta but left with only disappointment. Maybe I was unlucky when ordering all the worse they have. If the owner is Vietnamese I hope you taking good care of the 2 restaurants (I heard there is another one in town that might be better)
P/s: my disappointment remains after the reply from the owner....
Read moreBeautiful restaurant. Banh xeo was even close to being authentic. Very soggy and doughy texture. The pho bo was way off in portion and flavor. It was very quiet when we dined here since it was early 7pm. I was shocked when I heard their microwave turn on! Trying very hard not to be a tough critic. But this restaurant is smoke and mirrors. This is probably the worst Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. Which is fine, I don’t mind having a bad meal every now and then. I cannot believe that Restaurant earned a Michelin star.
There are so many Vietnamese immigrants around the world who try so hard day-in-and day-out to create the best food and experience and sharing with others. Dining here was an absolute insult to me as a Vietnamese.
The restaurant industry is a very tough business. It is so heartbreaking for me to write this review about a Vietnamese restaurant.
To the restaurant- Please let me know if you need help in the kitchen. I am very willing to visit and share ideas. This restaurant deserves so much...
