Such a great energy in this place! The food was fantastic, the staff are warm and professional and the space was buzzing!
For appetiser we tried the polenta con gorgonzola and it was very well balanced. The polenta was fluffy and cooked to perfection while the gorgonzola was fresh and gave a perfect sweetness/bite.
For main I had the risotto al cinghiale while trying from my friends the risotto alla cipolla e tartufo and risotto alla pera. All were phenomenal. Cooked to perfection with the perfect bite and creaminess. Between the 3 I loved the risotto al cinghiale because it was more savory and decadent but if you're feeling something more light and a touch sweet then the risotto alla pera is for you!
For desert I had crema di cachi e fragole and cannoli. The fruit crema was very light and fresh! Was the perfect way to end the meal, cutting the richness of the risotto. The cannolo as per the Sicilian with us had a perfectly balanced ricotta filling.
All in all with wine and water we each paid about €37 which is totally fair! The menu is ever changing and seasonal, I would recommend this place in a heart beat for every occasion: date,...
Read moreHats off to the chef and his team. We can in for lunch on a Saturday and they were nice enough to seat us without reservations( I wouldn't recommend it) As a tourist my first idea a restaurant will be good is that everyone there is local. We have eaten in zmichelin starred restaurants in the past couple of weeks here in Italy and this food made me want to bring my family back for a meal. The saffron risotto was cooked perfectly and the ossubucco and the gravy were just 😋. The veal, especially the part on the bone almost had me eating my fingers. The seasonal sorbet, was some sort of berry but it doesn't matter because it rivaled the best gelaterias we had been too. The coupe de grace was the recipe book of his personal...
Read moreI first visited to this Gem in 1986 with friends and colleagues @Enrico Grassi and @Francesco Izzo. I hadn't realised the religion with which the milanese revere their rice dishes until moving here. Having moved away in the nineties 15 years later I took my wife and kids. Today 36 years later back again and Casa Fontana is the place for risotto...Still the intimate little place it was back then, top service, quality and just too much a difficult choice. The rule is you have to chose in pairs...they do that to keep the slow food authenticity (25min fully from placing your order). Not to worry, the antipasti are great too.
