Cafė Piazzetta — Restaurant in Monte Argentario

Chilling experience here. We received the worst service we’ve ever had. They just serve drinks and a few snack items. We ordered a round of drinks and an order of Bruschetta at 9:30 pm. The drinks took almost 30 minutes to come and then the bruschetta never did. We inquired about it a little after 10 and only received a response of ‘wait a few more minutes’. By 10:30 it had now been an hour with no food and no communication about it. We decided to get up and just go pay. We had to convince them to take the bruschetta (that we never got) off the bill. The critical reviews are not accurate. Not only was the food sensational (I had the absolute best pesto gnocchi I have ever had, bar none) but the waiter Italo was extremely friendly and spoke excellent English. We met and were delighted with the owners, Giovanni and his lovely sister Raffaella. We then traveled to several other cities, but I must say this meal and the warm welcome and service was probably the best of all our restaurant meals. Honestly the location is great but I really have an issue with the owner and the service: Terrible and super impolite, was treated like a terrorist because I complain that we had to wait 45 minute to have our order. The owner was ready for a physical confrontation, crazy, we are here on vacation and not to fight. Avoid this place, many others are much much better around.
