El pirata | Pizzeria Ristorante — Restaurant in Monte Argentario

I recently dined at El Pirata restaurant in Porto Ercole and was unfortunately left with a rather disappointing experience. This bustling restaurant seemed to have a lot going for it, but the execution of the food left much to be desired.

However, upon tasting Mussels , it became clear that they were not cooked well. They lacked the tenderness and flavor one would expect from a well-prepared dish. Perhaps it was an off-night in the kitchen, but it was truly a letdown.

Moreover, the bread served alongside the meal was incredibly dry. It lacked the freshness and moisture that makes bread a delightful accompaniment to a meal. It felt as if it had been sitting out for too long, which greatly affected the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Location, food, price and service very good. We sat on the deck by the sea, with a beautiful view and pleasant breeze. A few of us got pizza which was delicious. Some got fish, really, really good! Service was quick in spite of the place being full. Staff was cordial and helpful. Prices are fair. Reservations are strongly recommended, or sit down for dinner past 10pm.
