Like others who have posted, the pasta dishes were good, but the bread was dry and inedible. Before the bill was prepared I asked the waiter, who was friendly and good, not to charge for the bread. He said OK and I went inside to pay. Another man prepared the bill, which had 3 cover charges of €3 each, despite our table being myself and my wife. I queried it and he raised his voice, pointing to the small print on the menu outlining this was for tablecloth, cutlery, and bread. "But why 3, I asked again". He started loudly that the charge was applied to tourists and Italians alike no matter who was at the table. I decided I'd not leave a tip to compensate and told him I'd been eating every day throughout Tuscany and his bread was not fresh though he claimed it was made fresh on the premises. It was the worst bread I'd tasted on my travels by far.
So as a word of warning to future potential visitors to this lovely hillside village, save yourself some aggro and dine in one of the many other restaurants in the main street.
Shocking attitude to have and they overcharged me an extra cover refusing to listen to a refund. They don't deserve to be in business with customer service like this. Ditch the "Basil Fawlty" arrogant manager and try to improve a) the arrogance and...
Read moreIn the beginning was okay. First impression was good because of the location mountain and sunset and blah blah blah.
After we sit down, they served us a bucket of bread. It was the worst bread ever I tried for the past week in Italy. Not even freshly cut, it’s dry and seem to be the leftover from over table and collected back together. We need to ask for the olive oil and etc. the olive oil bottle was empty.
We ordered a bottle of wine (25 euro) and they brought us a bottle that costs 36 and opened without presenting the label. We were told before arriving here that this might happen, and it happened.
Food was somehow adequate, average level not the best in the city. Seven days in the city, we tried a lot of restaurants. Maybe we didn’t order their best ones, but I have to say it’s average.
The sunset view it’s beautiful. But you can’t see from the restaurant. There are so many other choices up there. It’s a little cold in the evening. Take a blanket or jacket...
Read moreWhen most of the nearby restaurants were not taking walk-ins, a waiter at this venue greeted us and offered us a lovely outside table, which we immediately took. The waiter was quite pleasant and attentive. I ordered the Rocket Ricotta Pine Nut Salad with Balsamic Sauce for a salad, Gnocci with Blue Cheese Sauce for my main, and some sort of deletable chocolate volcano cake for dessert although it was not called that on the menu. Everything was presented beautifully. Food arrived hot, and was delicious. The atmosphere was ideal, with the perfect evening to sit outside and enjoy the environs. There are restrooms facilities inside and they...
