Trattoria Al Castello — Restaurant in Muggia / Milje

We were on a short road trip to the Croatian coast and we decided to make a stop in Muggia. Our wish was to eat something good and drink a nice wine. All that we found here. We really enjoyed. Just great. Allready when i called to make the reservation during driveing i could feel the kindness of the people from Al castello. The Restaurant is situated over Muggia with a Private parking and a very nice garden surounded with trees and flowers. Other guests were setting inside we asked for a place outside in the beautiful sun and it was no problem. We enjoyed the beautiful view, you have it even from outside. Wow! Very kind service. Food is superb especially for the price. We had the Gulf Mixed as an appetizer, great presentation, everything cooked perfectly, raw fish were also superb and super fresh. The second plate was a risotto with seafood, very understated but executed excellently salt levels were at 100%, I rarely eat food with such perfect amount of salt. Then the dessert, which was puff pastry crumble, very simple but effective pallate cleanser. House wines were fine, they did the job. Deserves a Bib...

We visited Trattoria Al Castello for a spontaneous birtday lunch with friends and despite the fact that we did not book a table ahead the staff was super friendly and set a table for 10. Perfect location, a bit away from the downtown hustle, located in a lush garden up on a hill. The view on the surroundings is lovely, the food is excellent, especially fresh fish and seafood. Kids could roam free in the garden while we enjoyes our delicious lunch. Would definitely be back...
