La Pietra - Pozzuoli — Restaurant in Naples

This is a good little restaurant on the seafront as you come into Pozzuoli from Bagnoli. Perfect for a (relatively ) light meal or lunch. As it was August, we booked a table in advance, especially given that it was the Ferragosta bank holiday weekend. There is air conditioning inside (which was handy as it was 30c plus when we went in the evening), or you can sit outside under cover and view the sea. If you get there early enough, you can park outside the restaurant, but remember to have euros handy to tip the parking attendant who turns up to help! Regarding the food, I recommend the Pannins with side orders of aubergines or courgettes. When it came to the dolce, I had the Deliza al Limone, which was refreshing and the meal's highlight. In terms of wine, we had the local wine, which was extremely good and reasonably priced. There was also local beer on offer, although only some of the options on the menu were available. Alright so the food was very good, the chef is from heaven but the staff was horrible. They added a beer to our tab, they made us wait 45 minutes for our food (thank god to the nice people nearby since they gave us their bread to not starve) and after we payed, my mother wanted to buy a bottle of water, to stay hydrated for medical reasons and they replied rudely saying that she should leave the restaurant, in a way that you tell a child off, kinda like “shoo”. Scrivo questa recensione perché credo sia giusto avvisare i clienti sprovveduti come me. Premetto che quello che ho mangiato è stato veramente buono MA....

Ho ordinato degli gnocchi al ragu napoletano con provola, mi arriva un piatto veramente molto invitante di gnocchi, ma senza neanche un pezzetto di carne. Io da turista (mio malgrado) penso che si siano sbagliati e che abbiano erroneamente servito degli gnocchi alla sorrentina. Chiedo al cameriere che gentilmente riporta il mio piatto in cucina. Dopo qualche istante arrivano altri due camerieri che abbastanza stupiti della mia segnalazione mi riferiscono che il ragu napoletano viene cotto con la carne dentro, ma che poi viene tolta. Al che io molto sbalordita da turista, giustamente faccio un passo indietro in quanto posso solo che fidarmi di quello che mi viene detto. Se non che, due miei amici avessero ordinato la pizza con il ragu, nella quale si vedeva la presenza della carne; inoltre pensando di chiarire i miei dubbi mi viene portato un piatto di sugo di ragu con ben presenti dei bei pezzettoni di carne per farmi vedere che viene messa effettivamente la carne nel ragu. Se quei pezzettoni di carne fossero stati nel mio piatto non avrei sollevato il minimo dubbio, ma come potevo sapere non si fosse trattato di un piccolo disguido nell'ordinazione? Magari sono troppo rompi scatole, ma voi cosa fareste se ordinate una pasta con le cozze e vi portano una paste dove le cozze se le tengono in cucina?! O un risotto con i gamberi dove però i gamberi non vengono serviti nel piatto?

In ogni caso alla fine sul conto era segnato gnocchi alla sorrentina, li consiglio vivamente perché erano...
